2012 NBA SUMMER LEAGUE SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED One of 11 playoff teams competing in Las Vegas, Hawks to face Washington in first game on July 13
ATLANTA, GA – Following the June 28 th NBA Draft, the Atlanta Hawks and 23 other teams, including 10 that appeared in the 2012 NBA Playoffs, will compete in the NBA Summer League, scheduled for July 13-22 in Las Vegas, NV. The 60-game schedule, announced this afternoon, will be held at the Thomas & Mack Center and the COX Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
The Hawks, making their second appearance in the NBA Summer League, will play five games in this year’s competition starting with the opening day’s first game on Friday, July 13 against the Washington Wizards. Atlanta’s remaining four games will be on Sunday, July 15 (vs. San Antonio), Monday, July 16 (vs. Boston), Wednesday, July 18 (vs. Dallas) and Thursday, July 19 (vs. Portland). Every Hawks game will be played at the COX Pavilion.
NBA TV will televise all 60 games, including 39 live from both venues, and games will also be available on digital platforms. The complete broadcast schedule will be released at a later date.
In addition to the Hawks, other teams participating in the event are the Boston Celtics, Charlotte Bobcats, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Hornets, New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards.
Tickets for the 2012 NBA Summer League are on sale and can be purchased by calling 702-739-FANS, through UNLVtickets.com or by visiting the Thomas & Mack Center Box Office and UNLV Ticket Outlets. All general admission tickets are $25 for the day; seniors and children (3-12) are $15 for the day; and children two years and under are admitted free of charge.
Prior to leaving for Las Vegas, this year’s draft picks (#23 and #43) will join a group of players for several days of workouts locally starting on July 9 on the Philips Arena practice court. Additional information on those practices will be released at a later date.
