PROVIDING ATHLETES WITH SUPPORT

Block V Club Mission Statement The Block V Club is engaged in providing the financial resources to the Villanova Athletics Department in order to maximize the success of the student-athlete both in the classroom and on the playing field. Origin of Block V Club Name

Since the earliest of days of Villanova Athletics, the “V” has been the defining symbol of the school’s commit- ment to athletic excellence. Our teams still proudly dis- play the Block V on their uniforms thus distinguishing them from the competition. The name of the Block V Club was carefully chosen to reinforce the “V” connec- tion which binds both past and present student-athletes and all supporters of Wildcat Athletics. Just a glimpse of the “V” brings immediate recognition of Athletics. Wildcat student-athletes compete nationwide with the image of the “V” displayed proudly on their uniforms; this badge links them to those alumni who donned the “V” in past competition. The “V” will serve as the enduring symbol forever linking student- athletes to Villanova Athletics. As the beloved fight song so clearly states, “V” is for Villanova! Purpose of the Block V Club Providing Athletes With Support

The Block V Club acknowledges the contributions made by Villanova student-athletes over the last 130 years. It takes an enormous commitment of time and energy to be a Villanova student-athlete and the Block V Club exists to support that commitment financially and socially. Athletics Department Initiatives
