Lake Tawakoni STATE PARK

PRAIRIES AND LAKES

Lake Tawakoni is a 37,800-acre water supply for surrounding communities and the City of , providing water-oriented recreation for much of central . Lake Tawakoni plays host to more than 30 fishing tournaments each year, and offers 376 state park acres with over five miles of shoreline, and a variety of other activities including fishing, boating, biking, geocaching, hiking and birding. Swimmers can splash in a protected cove.

Camping: Campsites with water and electricity, and full hook-ups, and a walk-in primitive group area that accommodates up to 48 people.

Picnicking: 40 picnic tables and grills.

Swimming: Beach-front, boat-free zone, swimming area.

Birding: Over 265 identified species in the park.

Boating: Four-lane boat ramp.

Fishing: Catches include catfish, bass and crappie.

Trails: 5.5 miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking.

Texas State Park Store: One-of-a-kind gifts, shirts, souvenirs, books, etc.
