In 2020, the Observatory launched a report on the resilience and vulnerability of families across six European countries (Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal and Belgium) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative aimed to form a profound understanding of families’ economic behavior in order to encourage debate on the best measures to take to promote a culture of financial health in the regions analyzed.

The study enjoyed widespread national coverage after its release—it was written about in El País, and the Observatory’s director, Laura Núñez, was invited to discuss it on the Spanish television program Madrid Directo.
