ABOUT THE FISU AMERICA GAMES

The FISU America Games are a multi-sport event sanctioned by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). Alternating with the Summer and Winter , which invite all the countries of the world for the biennial events, the FISU America Games are a regional multi- sport event similar to the Pan-American Games for FISU member-countries of North and South America held in even-numbered years.

ABOUT USA TEAM

USA Team is an organization overseen by the United States International University Sports Federation (US-IUSF). Members of the USA Team compete globally as representatives of the United States in university-level sports competitions organized by FISU, the governing body of university sport worldwide. US-IUSF represents the official governing body for the United States at all FISU events, including the FISU America Games, World and the World University Championships.

ABOUT THE 2020 MEXICO GAMES

The 2020 Games will be the second edition of the FISU America Games, and will be held in Merida, Mexico May 31 through June 10, 2020. The Games will have 2,000 competing athletes, 20-25 participating countries, and USA Team representation in up to 15 sports. Athletes and staff will stay in a 3-4 star hotel.

ABOUT US-IUSF

The United States International University Sports Federation (US-IUSF) is the governing body for the United States and represents all American athletes participating in FISU events. Dr. Gary Cunningham leads US-IUSF membership, and also serves as Chef de Mission for all World University Games competitions. Vice President, Dan Guerrero, will succeed Dr. Cunningham as the President of the US-IUSF for the 2021 Universiades.

BTI Events is the managing partner for the US-IUSF, the American arm of FISU. A comprehensive athletic event management company, BTI Events facilitates and provides logistical support for all types of athletic teams traveling to domestic and international events, including U.S. athletes competing in the World University Games. Under the direction of the US-IUSF, BTI Events assists U.S. athletes in managing Games and Championships administration, logistics, and information resources.

Social media and website promotion Note: The number of athletes and Opportunity to march in Opening and Closing Ceremonies staff allowed to stay in the hotel is a Dependent upon arrival and departure dates limited figure set per sport by FISU regulations. Additional people in your Tickets to attend other sporting events (as available) party beyond the maximum must stay in FISU-appointed facilities at a higher Sightseeing tour of host city expense.
