Conservatory Overview Sample Curriculum Addressing the needs of young dancers who aspire to perform on stage or screen, Anatomy the Commercial Dance Conservatory is the only program of its kind specially Ballet designed to develop well-rounded dancers with the technical skills, discipline, and Choreography commitment necessary for a career in the industry and/or admittance into Dance Conditioning prestigious university and college programs. Students receive technical instruction Dance History in a variety of dance forms and styles from a core faculty of professionals. Esteemed Hip Hop guest artists also expose students to current and innovative dance forms, as well as Jazz provide students with the unique opportunity to establish working relationships with Lyrical internationally renowned choreographers. Main Street, Santa Ana, CA 92701 | 714.560.0900 Performance Opportunities The Commercial Dance Conservatory offers four unique performance opportunities each school year: a Jr. and Sr. Conservatory winter concert, a Jr. Conservatory spring concert, a Sr. Conservatory spring concert, and a Sr. Conservatory student choreography concert. Commercial Dance students also have the opportunity to participate in OCSA’s Season Finale, an end-of-year performance presented at the prestigious Segerstrom Center for the Arts.

Unique Experiences Commercial Dance students in grades 9-12 have the unique opportunity to audition for the conservatory’s community performance group, the Dot Comm CONTACT INFORMATION Dancers. This group provides students with real-world experience, as they are NICOLE BERGER put through a professional audition and weekly rehearsals to learn choreography Director, Commercial Dance by staff and guest professionals. Ms. Nicole Berger, an award-winning director for film and stage, started her career as a dancer in major motion pictures, independent films, primetime television shows, and renowned stage productions. In 2006, while on set as a principal dancer in Julie Taymor’s Across the Universe, she was mentored by acclaimed Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel. Since then, she has served as the choreographer for many television networks, creating scenes for shows including The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Recreation, Deadwood: The Movie, and Veep, among others. As a graduate of the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Ms. Translated materials available upon request. Berger quickly started her career as a soloist and assistant Email [email protected]. choreographer with Mark Dendy Dance and Theatre, where she had the opportunity to choreograph for the Radio City Rockettes. She was also a company member of the Metropolitan Opera Ballet in New York City and currently serves as the artistic director of COMPANY RHOME, a Los Angeles-based contemporary ballet theatre company. As an educator, Ms. Berger has taught at the collegiate level since 2010 and has toured the nation giving master classes to high school and college students. She received an Inspiring Brilliance Award from Disney Performing Arts for her innovative, creative, and transformative work with her students.
