FOX NASCAR QUOTES

On fighting his way back to Victory Lane at Phoenix following penalties assessed the previous week after his win at Las Vegas:

“Three wins in a row happens so seldomly in this sport that whether you’re a fan of Kevin Harvick and Rodney Childers or not, you have to celebrate what they have accomplished.” --Mike Joy

“This was a statement win. We all know how good Kevin Harvick and Rodney Childers and that team are. But after everything that’s happened in the last week, to come in and earn that win like they did, this is a statement not only to the naysayers but to the competitors. They’re going to be chasing the 4 car all year long and possibly chasing him into history.” --Jeff Gordon

“The record book says Kevin Harvick won three in a row, but it was the resolve of that race team that impressed me. They put a car on the track (at Phoenix) that nobody was going to beat.” --Darrell Waltrip

“When you have that kind of confidence and Kevin Harvick inspired behind the wheel -- he said he was upset. That performance was really special … It was all about Kevin Harvick. He is so in tune to what he’s doing right now. I knew he was going to put on a show on to tell people, ‘To heck with my back window. I’m the man when we get to the desert.’” --Michael Waltrip
