Instrumentalists perform for Nascar fans Instrumentalists from North and South Carolina gathered in Charlotte April 20-21 for training and a mission project. Sponsored by the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, South Carolina Baptist Association and Metrolina Baptist Association, the performers rehearsed together Friday and Saturday at University Hills Baptist Church before heading to the NASCAR Hall of Fame to perform outdoors for passersby. At right, instrumentalists perform for NASCAR fans in Charlotte. Bob Lowman, director of missions for Metrolina Baptist Association, was one of the crew sharing the gospel with people who stopped to listen to the concert. The effort was inspired by the BSC’s Find It Here missions emphasis. Camp Kirkland, left, known for leading international orchestra mission trips, was the conductor for the weekend. Foot traffic was supposed to be higher because of the annual car show at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. (BSC photos by Kenny Lamm)
