Site Visit Hin Keng Station, Shatin to Central Link
Date and Time: 15 September 2018 (Saturday) 9:00am to 12:00pm Project Introduction
The Shatin to Central Link (SCL) will connect several existing railway lines - Tai Wai to Hung Hom Section will connect the West Rail Line and Ma On Shan Line to form Tuen Ma Line, while Hung Hom to Admiralty Section will extend the existing East Rail Line from Hung Hom across the harbour to Hong Kong Island. The SCL will have 10 stations. Six will be interchange stations where passengers can conveniently change to other railway lines. Since the commencement of further planning and design in 2008, the Government established that the addition of Hin Keng Station will relieve congestion at Tai Wai Station and recognized the need of railway service for the residents of Hin Keng area. Hin Keng Station is therefore added to the project. Hin Keng Station will be an elevated station situated to the southwest of the former Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department New Territories South Animal Management Centre, the former Shatin Plant Quarantine Station and Hin Tin Playground.

Site Visit Itinerary - The participants would be furnished with a presentation of project brief followed by a site walk introducing the Hin Keng Station. The arrangement of site walk might vary subject to the site condition on the day of visit.
Registration - The number of participants is limited to 30. Members wishing to join the site visit are requested to complete ONLINE APPLICATION by 27 August 2018 (Monday) noon. It will be on a first come first serve basis with priorities given to members of the Institution. Applicants are required to note that neither the Institution nor the parties concerned accept any liability in connection with the visit. (Please note that applicant will be banned for participating 3 consecutive visits if one fails to turn up after the successful registration)
Protective Equipment & Safety Arrangement- Visitors must put on their own safety shoes, safety helmet and reflective vest for the visit. Late comers or persons not wearing proper PPE will not be entertained.
Assembly - 8:45am at Entrance of PARKnSHOP, G/F Hin Keng Shopping Centre, 69 Che Kung Miu Road, Hin Keng, Tai Wai (Location Map will be sent out together with the confirmation email.)
