2019 marked a milestone on many fronts. State MAs and volunteers have contributed to our visibility in the online and news media. FRHAM had Mr Ong Lay Seong signed a memorandum of agreement with Malaysia’s Honorary Secretary - General premier private university, Taylor’s University to co-design and co-instruct a Bachelor of Social Science degree for Taylor’s University for a period of four years. This engagement is a result of a positive achievement towards the performance and visibility of FRHAM overall.

We have also been advocating on the online sphere to promote family planning and SRHR for a broader spectrum of the community. We generated discussions on SRHR to raise awareness and to build relationships with the public and stakeholders.

Service Statistics

In 2019, we served 90,032 clients ranging from women, men and young people from urban, suburban, poor and vulnerable communities. 96.1% of clients who received services in our State MAs clinics were female. A total of 358,119 services were conducted comprising non-SRHR services, non-contraceptive services and contraceptive services. The number of contraceptive services provided for this year was 79,693. FRHAM and State MAs have also delivered 98,242 oral contraceptives for clients in 2019. The number of engagements with young people below 24 years old was 5,512.

Since 2018, FRHAM has assisted State MAs in resource mobilization and income generation, FRHAM has introduced funders and projects to enable State MAs to run the project independently at the state level. It includes Basic Contraceptive Course and direct procurement of clinical assets from donors. OFFICIALS OF FRHAM
