Tournament Storylines From AJGA to LPGA Pat Hurst participated in five AJGA events as a junior and was a member of Castlewood Country Club’s Junior Merit Program. An NCAA champion at San Jose State, Hurst’s LPGA resume includes a tie for eighth at the 2011 Wegmans LPGA Championship. Home sweet home Six participants will compete in their hometown. Pleasanton residents to participate include Roshan Chekuri (Foothill High School - 2012), Troy Maxoutopoulis (Foothill High School – 2013), Katherine Sborov (Foothill High School – 2013), Zachary Smith (Amador Valley High School – 2014) and Brett Thawley (Foothill High School - 2012). Top Players to Watch Hannah O’Sullivan, Cupertino, Calif. (2016) O’Sullivan comes into the event as the highest-ranked player at No. 61 in the Polo Golf Rankings. An eighth-grader, she captured her first AJGA victory at the 2010 Stockton Sports Commission Junior Open. Most recently, O’Sullivan finished 13th at the prestigious Rolex Tournament of Champions.

Robynn Ree, Redondo Beach, Calif. (2015) A rising freshman, Ree brings three years of AJGA experience with a resume that includes seven AJGA top-15 finishes. Her T9 finish at the PING Phoenix Junior was Ree’s best finish of 2011.

Brenna Nelsen, Monte Sereno, Calif. (2011) Nelsen will compete close to home in one of her last AJGA events before attending Harvard in the fall. A graduate of Castilleja School, Nelsen finished fourth in the 2010 Aspen Golf Classic and seventh at the 2011 W. Duncan MacMillan Classic at Rush Creek.

Dylan Healey, Franklin, Tenn. (2012) In his sixth year of AJGA competition, Healey comes into the event as the highest-ranked boy. His T2 performance at the 2011 Under Armour® / Hunter Mahan Championship was the best of his career.

Ben Dietrich, Conover, N.C. (2013) Dietrich will travel across the U.S. to compete, bringing with him four top-10 junior golf finishes. Most notably, he finished T8 at both the 2011 Exide Technologies Junior Open and 2011 Sea Pines Junior Heritage.

Tanner Hughes, Livermore, Calif. (2014) Hughes returns to Castlewood Country Club after a T7 finish in the 2010 Trader Joe’s Junior Championship hosted by Pat Hurst. In 2011, he added an additional top-10 finish at the AJGA Junior at Diablo Grande.

Media Accommodations The AJGA is prepared to make covering the Trader Joe’s Junior Championship hosted by Pat Hurst an enjoyable experience. Whether it be on-site professional communications staff or timely results, the AJGA is ready to honor all media requests. At the event, the AJGA will provide:

Information about the tournament and its participants leading up to the event Assistance with player interviews before, during and after the tournament A golf cart to make covering the tournament as easy as possible Assistance locating players on the course A recap with results after each tournament round in a timely manner

During the week of the tournament, the AJGA will have three communications representatives on hand to assist the media. These media officials will write an AP Style recap and produce agate results each tournament day. These will then be faxed and/or e-mailed to all media outlets. Interviews with AJGA Tournament Directors, Tournament Chairmen and juniors can be conducted before or after every round.
