Em loyee of the Year ------~~~------~ Congratulations to Hoai (Andy) Nguyen, our 2001 Employee of the Year. In order to qualify for this honor, the person must have been an Employee of the Month in that year. So, if Andy seems fam iliar, he is, we honored him in November, when we called him the lau lau mas ter of OCC. He makes our weekly !au lau (about 25) and made 500 for the luau. In addition to lau lau, Andy makes the crab cakes, and works lunch shift and Sunday night buffet. This is the second year in a row a cook hfls been chosen the Employee of the Year. This should give a message to those who don't eat here-come and eat. Andy, ever modest, says everybody in the kitchen is a good worker, and in order to find out anything about him, you have to interview his fellow employees, because Andy won't talk about himself. Chef describes him as quiet, well organized, dependable and never late to work. And of course, a good cook. An OCC employee for more than 20 years, Andy and his famil y live in Kaimuki. He and his wife have an adult daughter and a son attending Kaimuki School.
