Ssirum is a valuable heritage of Korean nation that has fostered people's strength, courage, wisdom and united force for a long time. Thanks to the correct policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on protecting national heritage, Ssirum is further encouraged and regarded as a part of the life of Korean people. This is because I have improved the techniques of Ssirum at leisure while engaging in farming for about 50 years, thus being known as a famous "Ssirum bearer and practitioner" and "Ssirum trainer". I am 72 years old now, but when I see the young people competing in their strength at Ssirum site, I feel much younger enough to compete with them, and that makes me love Ssirum throughout my life, I think. Being proud of Ssirum that is loved by all Koreans to be nominated for the inscription on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, I support it whole-heartedly.
