GENERAL NOTES THE OFFENSE

INSIDE THE CHARLOTTE SERIES AIR IT OUT Morehead State and Charlotte have only met once, and that came Morehead State leads the PFL in pass attempts (488) and in Morehead last season. In Charlotte’s fi rst year as a intercollegiate completions (309). The Eagles average 288 passing yards per game team, the 49ers defeated MSU 61-17. to rank second in the conference.

CROWD SUPPORT 700-CLUB Morehead State led the Pioneer Football League in home Morehead State’s 706 total yards at Butler were the fi fth-highest attendance. MSU’s fi ve games at Jayne Stadium drew an average of single-game total in the Football Championship Subdivision this 5,748 fans. season. It marked MSU’s highest output against a Division I team since 1997 and was just 47 yards shy of the program record of 753 NEVER QUIT set against Kentucky Christian in 2011. Morehead State has trailed in all four of its wins this year. The Eagles fell behind at Davidson 18-7 in the fi rst half before MILESTONE MARK rallying for a 40-32 victory. MSU erased a 17-point defi cit to edge Sophomore quarterback Austin Gahafer has thrown for 5,134 Valparaiso 48-47. yards (233 per game) and 34 touchdowns in 22 career games. He has recorded at least 200 yards passing 13 times and eclipsed 300 HOME COOKING yards fi ve times. Morehead State fi nished 3-2 in its fi ve home games this year. That marked the second time in the last three years the Eagles MAC ON THE ATTACK concluded their home schedule with a winning mark. Rees Macshara rushed for 126 yards against Stetson, his second- best eff ort this season and his third 100+ yard performance in PROTECTING THE QB 2014. He has 10 career 100-yard games and has rushed for 2,299 Heading into the fi nal weekend, Morehead State ranks second yards in his four seasons. among the 11 PFL teams in fewest sacks allowed. The Eagle off ensive line has given up just 13 sacks. EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND Sophomore slot receiver Jake Raymond has nearly matched his SENIOR SALUTE total from last year when he led the team with 644 receiving yards. ROB TENYER -- second season as head coach -- 14th season at Morehead State 7-16 (.304) record as head coach -- 67-69 (.492) record as an assistant coach

Rob Tenyer was named the 14th head football coach in Morehead State history on Dec. 13, 2012. He had previously served as an assistant coach at MSU for 12 seasons. Tenyer served as Morehead State’s off ensive coordinator in 2011 and 2012 after four seasons as recruiting coordinator. He coached running backs all 12 years as an assistant coach, in addition to stints as receivers coach, strength & conditioning coordinator and equipment coordinator. Tenyer has 16 years of collegiate recruiting experience, including 13 at the Division I level. He was also the football staff ’s academic liaison in 2011 and 2012, where he annually monitored and assisted 100+ student-athletes in their pursuit of degrees at Morehead State. In Tenyer’s two years as a coordinator, the Eagle off ense set 29 school records. He also worked with MSU’s special teams, where seven university standards were established in 2012. The Morehead State off ense paced the Pioneer Football League in fi ve statistical categories in 2011 and six in 2012. The Eagles led the PFL in points, total yards and passing yards both campaigns. Tenyer was on the staff for four consecutive PFL South Division championships from 2002-05, when the Eagles posted a 31-16 record. He also helped MSU to a school-record-tying nine wins in 2002. Tenyer has mentored 26 All-PFL selections at MSU, including 18 on off ense. Mason Webb (2008), Jabari McGee (2006) and Eli Parkes (2005) each picked up All-America honors during his watch. Tenyer joined the Morehead State staff after serving as an assistant coach at Centre College (Ky.) from 1998-2000 and graduate assistant at California University (Pa.) from 1996-97. He also worked as a player/coach with a professional team in Landsberg, Germany, in 1996. A football, basketball and baseball star growing up, Tenyer graduated from Marine City High School (Mich.). He was an all-league selection in all three sports and was inducted into his alma mater’s Hall of Fame in 2010. Tenyer earned a bachelor’s degree from Olivet College (Mich.) in 1995 and master’s degree from MSU in 2007. At Olivet, he was a four-year letterwinner at quarterback. He also served as team captain his senior year. Tenyer has worked several notable camps in the states of Alabama, California, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas. He is also a member of the Coaches Association. He is married to the former Jane Kelly, an MSU graduate who is the university’s assistant director of fi tness, wellness & student development. The couple has one daughter, Brooke.
