Acquisition Information Gift of Emily Leider, 2005 Biography Rudolph Valentino was an Italian-born actor. He arrived in in 1917, after a stint in New York. His appearance in THE SHEIK (1921) and other films of the early brought him stardom and celebrity. Emily Leider is an American writer and the biographer of Mae West and Rudolph Valentino.
