What is proposed?

Lambeth Council and LJAG want to make changes that would transform Cambria Road into an attractive street for walking and cycling.

There will be no changes to parking places or restrictions.

Make Cambria Road look better and feel safer with: • Improved cycle and walking access • Brighter lighting • Artworks and artistic lighting • Bollards to replace the existing gate • Tree planting and greenery at the bridge entrances. • A single level (no kerb) surface under the bridge and in front of Bengeworth Road with block paving in the area under the bridge.

Make Cambria Road more attractive for walking and cycling with:

• Cambria Road to be two-way for cycles between Southwell Road and Coldharbour Lane, though remaining one-way for motor vehicles. • Repaving of all footways • A renewed raised table at the junction with Southwell Road with better paving and crossings • Tree planting where possible along Cambria Road • Pedestrian-friendly junction improvements where Cambria Road meets Coldharbour Lane (see example in picture on front of leaflet) • Block-effect paving in the parking bay areas to give the appearance of much wider footways (See example in picture 2) The amount of parking provision will not change .
