P REACHERS AND S PEAKERS. The Dean will preach at the Sunday morning communion services with the exception of 11 February when Dr Keith Carne, Fellow, and 4 March when The Revd Bruce Dayton, Postgraduate Student, will preach. The visiting preachers at Matins and this term will be addressing the topic of ‘The Christian politician’. They are: Mr Alan Storkey, who teaches Social Theology at Oak Hill College and is Chair of the Movement for Christian Democracy (28 January, Matins); The Rt Hon Peter Lilley, M.P. (4 February, Evensong); The Rt Hon Paul Boateng, M.P. (4 March, Evensong); Ms Catherine Shelley, former Christian lobbyist and local Councillor in Brighton (11 March, Matins).

S UNDAY M ORNINGS. Junior and senior, resident and non-resident members of College and their guests are welcome for sherry or soft drinks in H3 after the morning service.

I LLUSTRATIONS. This term’s illustrations are taken from Dürer’s 1512 series of engravings of the Passion. The scenes depicted bear close comparison with the same scenes as shown in the Chapel windows (some twenty years later). The illustrations are Christ’s meeting with Veronica (cover); Christ before Caiaphas (January); the Flagellation (February); the Crowning with Thorns (March).
