Pour L'amour De Dieu POUR L’AMOUR DE DIEU QUATRE-VINGT-CINQ ANNÉES SOUS L’ŒIL VIGILANT DU SEIGNEUR CHRONIQUÉES PAR N. KASTURI En préambule, Chacun de nous doit vivre le volume de la biographie que nous apportons avec nous chaque fois que nous naissons, page après page, chapitre après chapitre, quel que soit le nombre de points et de tirets, de points d’interrogation et de points d’exclamation, de virgules et de doubles points, jusqu’à ce que la phrase se termine par un point final. Mais heureusement, j’ai comme compagnon inséparable et comme conseiller Bhagavan Lui-même : Il met les points sur les i alors que je vis chaque ligne de chaque page. Il a fait du Livre de la Vie ma biographiecapitale et pleine de sens pour moi. Je dois cependant avouer que je ne mérite pas ce livre sur moi, par moi. Il y en a, je le sais, des millions qui absorbent l’Amour de ce Dieu vivant et aimant beaucoup plus profondément et qui peuvent dès lors prétendre être les messagers de Son Amour. Ils peuvent amener les mal-aimés et les mal-aimants avec des pas plus assurés et plus fermes en la Présence du Rédempteur, du Consolateur, du Sauveur, de l’Avatar, de Sai. Néanmoins, lorsque Bhagavan manifesta un faible intérêt favorable lorsque quelqu’un osa me murmurer en Sa Présence que quelques-uns de mes souvenirs pourraient être bien accueillis par beaucoup, je fus incité par Son sourire à m’embarquer dans cette audacieuse aventure, ma mémoire assumant le rôle de correcteur principal, d’où la chronologie imparfaite dont souffre la chronique. Puisque les quatre volumes de Sathyam Sivam Sundaram retracent la plupart de ce que j’ai voulu communiquer, ce livre est devenu un testament personnel, souvent peut-être trop personnel pour être supporté, ce pourquoi je demande pardon. ‘’La flatterie est la nourriture des imbéciles’’, disent ceux à qui elle est refusée. Je n’ose pas renier mes goûts, car j’ai été dupé par des flatteurs m’ayant lancé des épithètes telles que poète, érudit, linguiste, humoriste, philosophe et même ‘’sage de la fourmilière’’ ! Rappelez-vous, cher lecteur, que je m’efforce de mon mieux d’éliminer le poison de l’ego, et sympathisez avec moi à chaque fois que vous voyez le serpent relever la tête à travers les lignes de ce livre. 2 Quelques-uns de mes anciens étudiants des Facultés, mon petit-fils, son épouse et quelques frères à Prasanthi Nilayam, ont demandé que je n’abandonne pas le travail et ont insisté pour que je termine ce livre. Baba dit : ‘’Une personne naît pour apprendre comment ne plus renaître.’’ Le secret pour atteindre ce but m’a éludé durant mes précédentes apparitions, aussi ai-je dû retourner à l’école. Au cours de mon long voyage d’amibe à anthropos, je connaissais peu l’alphabet de la libération, même pas le A pour Atma ! C’est ainsi qu’une nuit de Noël, j’arrivai dans une famille hindoue, près du rivage de la Mer d’Arabie, sans défense comme toujours et poussant et donnant des coups à la perspective d’un nouveau séjour sur terre. Le jour de ma naissance, la moitié du monde était éclairé par l’adoration pour le Fils de Dieu. Etait-ce une récompense pour quelque acte de mérite remarquable au cours de mon dernier séjour ici ? Ou était-ce un signe pour ma propre résurrection ? Je ne sais pas. Le passé modèle inévitablement le présent et l’avenir modèle aussi le présent avec une inévitabilité tout aussi grande. Bien souvent, l’attrait du futur est plus décisif que la pression du passé. L’arbre de demain se trouve dans la graine d’aujourd’hui, aussi sûrement que la graine d’aujourd’hui provient de l’arbre d’hier. La Gita fut prononcée pour modeler un Gandhi des siècles plus tard. Le devenir manifeste nécessite un être latent. Naître le jour de Noël présageait d’une page brillante dans le livre de ma vie. Je quittai le village où je naquis en 1919 pour n’y rentrer qu’en 1968 avec Baba que des milliers de chrétiens de nombreux pays adorent le jour de Noël comme Celui qui a envoyé Son Fils unique pour sauver l’humanité. Et le but de la visite de Baba était de bénir un dévot chrétien et de poser la première pierre d’un temple qu’il érigeait pour Lui. C’est une histoire qui révèle la gloire de Baba et la piété d’Elias. Elias fut attiré dans une maison distante de dix kilomètres, où la volonté de Baba faisait se répandrede Son portrait (!), et à la surprise de tous, du portrait de Jésus-Christ aussi, la cendre sacrée curative (vibhuti) qu’Il matérialise souvent d’un geste de la main. Il s’y rendit, il vit, et il fut ravi. Il avait entendu que Baba était hindou. Il savait que Baba était à des centaines de kilomètres. Il fut le témoin de l’œuvre de la Volonté Divine. Il réalisa que l’Un répond à n’importe quel nom prononcé dans n’importe quelle langue. Il décida de construire un temple consacré à son Christ revenu comme Consolateur (Sai), avec le nom de la Vérité (Sathya) et portant une robe rouge-sang, comme révélé à St Jean. 5 Baba me conduisit dans mon village dans l’Impala et séjourna dans le foyer chrétien. Le Sermon sur la Montagne fut prononcé de la terrasse de cette maison. En montant les marches, Il agita Sa main et matérialisa une magnifique croix pour un chrétien, le Ministre de la Santé du Kerala. La terrasse donnait sur le terrain de football de l’école secondaire, ma très chère alma mater. Ce soir-là, le terrain était comme un vaste jardin de visages rayonnants et d’yeux brillants. Je pouvais voir une douzaine de mes contemporains assis sereinement au premier rang des auditeurs. ‘’Fais ton lit et suis-Moi’’, disait le texte. Dans Son infinie compassion, Il nous enjoint de quitter le lit de douleur sur lequel nous haletons et nous gémissons, nous nous tortillons et nous retournons et de marcher sur les pas du Sauveur. J’eus le plaisir rare de traduire Son discours en malayalam, la langue du Kerala. Non pas qu’Il eut besoin d’un interprète. Toutes les langues sont mues par Lui. Il voulait me présenter comme l’enfant du pays et m’accorder ce plaisir ce jour-là, c’est tout. Lorsque je ne pus ramener un mot approprié en malayalam à la mémoirecar j’étais resté éloigné de cette région pendant plus de trois décenniesIl m’aida ! Lorsque j’oubliai un adjectif ou une de Ses adjurations, Il vint au secours des auditeurs avec un mot qu’ils connaissaient ! Le village de Tripunittura possède en son cœur un temple dans lequel, selon la tradition, Arjuna avait installé une idole de Vishnu (Narayana) qui incarné en tant que Krishna lui servit d’aurige pendant la bataille de dix-huit jours sur le champ de bataille de Kurukshetra. Comme les rênes qu’Il tenait ne guidèrent pas seulement les chevaux, mais aussi Arjuna à travers les remous et les défis, les retournements et les rebondissements, les colères et les angoisses de la bataille, Krishna fut acclamé après cet acte unique de service gracieux à un suppliant comme Parthasarathi (l’aurige de Partha, Partha étant un autre nom par lequel Arjuna était connu). Le onzième jour de ma carrière terrestre, ma mère me porta affectueusement au temple, comme la coutume l’exigeait et me déposa sur la dalle en pierre, sous la grosse lampe qui pendait devant le sanctuaire de Parthasarathi. Elle observa le visage de l’idole pour obtenir un signe de bénédiction. Les flammes des lampes de droite et de gauche vacillèrent pendant un moment. Elle chérit dans son cœur le sourire que l’idole lui accorda alors, puis elle me ramena à la maison tout à fait satisfaite. Par la suite, elle me conduisit chaque matin au temple jusqu’à ce que je 6 puisse y aller seul et réciter quelques psaumes propitiatoires qui attireraient sur moi la grâce de Parthasarathi. Je pus alors recevoir du prêtre une pincée de pâte de santal humide pour mettre sur le front et une cuillerée d’eau sanctifiée pour purifier l’intérieur. Mon grand-père était le Karyakar ou l’administrateur du temple. Chaque soir, après avoir verrouillé la porte du sanctuaire, il ramenait à la maison sa part des offrandes de nourriture placées deux fois par jour devant le Seigneur. Nous veillions jusqu’à ce qu’il arrive. Je recevais la ‘’part du lionceau’’ du riz sucré qui nourrit l’âme que Parthasarathi m’avait envoyé. Le temple est construit en travers de la route que je dus emprunter plus tard pour atteindre le ‘’restaurant’’ gratuit et mon école.

The social construct in India dictates that design that comes out of the West is a benchmark for excellence and I had followed this golden rule without realising that designs are meant for people and that their goals, emotions, challenges and aspirations change as per their contexts. As a designer, it is crucial to develop an understanding of how humans perceive the world, in what context and the relation between emotions and cognition, especially while designing for a larger world audience. The principles of HCD have a strong connection with learnings from ancient Hindu philosophy. Kali is She from whom all are born and into whom all must eventually return. She is the ultimate power of creation and destruction, and pervades every aspect of the universe. While Her iconography and mythology have deep mystical and symbolic meaning, Her essence is simple: transformation. Loving Her transforms our lives.     CHAITANYA JYOTI MUSEUM INTRODUCTION: Chaitanya Jyoti Museum was built to commemorate the 75th Birthday of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Avatar of the Yuga ( the Era). Flanked by rocky hillside and verdant greenery with tall trees, Chaitanya Jyoti appears to visitors like something out of the pages of a fairy tale. Its grandeur and originality is stunning. The purpose of Chaitanya Jyoti is not merely to provide a narration of the life of the Avatar of the Age, but also to bring out the purpose of his advent and how Humanity has benefited and will continue to benefit by His advent in years to come. It was a project sponsored by overseas devotees and conceived, developed and presented under the leadership of Sri Indulal Shah, the then International Chairman Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation world wide. The building houses an exhibition on Baba's Life and Mission, which would inspire, motivate and encourage devotees to follow His teachings and put them into practice. A level site of 65m frontage and 60m depth and 4m above road level had to be created out of a sloping hillside. To achieve this, entailed 3 to 4m of filling of one third of the area and removal of 5000 m3 of rock from the remaining area. The building is 27m higher than the road level, with a covered area of 6000 m2. The architect, Goy Say Tong of Malaysia, designed a unique structure with a fusion of many cultures and architectural styles. The dominant architectural feature is a roof similar to that of a Chinese Emperor's Palace, flanked by two Moorish domes made of Titanium, crowning the semicircular ends which are adorned with Gothic arches and two lift shafts with Japanese style roofs.
