Draíocht Players @ Na Fianna

Huge thanks to the Draíocht Players who gave yet another fantastic performance on this year’s visit to Na Fianna last Thursday night. Thanks also to all those who supported this year’s production which was a comedy, ‘Play On’, written by Rick Abbott.

Pat Breen is once again leading the committee and you can enter a team by contacting any of his committee John Caffrey, Sean O’Laoire, Kevin Bulman or Gerry Donohoe.

Handball News

It was a good week for Na Fianna’s Handballers picking up more silverware in All-Ireland competitions. Ned Flynn, fresh from his singles win last week, teamed up with Pat Ryan to win the Over 70 40x20 Doubles title 21-11, 21-17. Well done lads.

Well done also to Egin Jensen and Frank Daly who added another two All-Ireland titles to the Na Fianna and Dublin tally when they came from behind to win the Over 50 A title. This is the lads’ seventh title in which they they lost the first game 21-11, but fought back to win the second 21-2, and this set up a tie-break which they won 21-17.

Following a number of incidents in Alfie Byrne Road and Collinstown over the last few nights, members are again advised to be vigilant at all times when attending training sessions or matches. Those not taking part should arrange between them to keep an eye on parked cars. Valuables including mobile phones, laptops etc should never be left in parked cars. Sportsgrounds provide an easy attraction to speculative thieves so let’s not make it easy for them. Safeguard your property by staying alert and vigilant at all times.
