DAVID PALANCA CAÑÓN Coordinador Comarcal de Salud Pública (Departamento de Salud del Gobierno Vasco) Resumen: En el presente trabajo se intenta desarrollar tres aspectos de dicho impuesto sobre la patata. En primer lugar, las características del diezmo en cada una de las tres provincias vascas, así como los pueblos y el año de inicio del pago de esta contribución decimal. A continuación, intentaremos estable- cer la correspondencia entre los “diezmos” pagados a la Iglesia y el producto declarado al estamento civil, cuando tengamos ambos datos para el mismo año de un determinado pueblo y/o municipio. En tercer lugar, durante el período de estudio y en relación con este impuesto, expondremos las diferentes consultas realizadas, así como las quejas, pleitos y acuerdos que hubo entre los represen- tantes eclesiásticos y de los agricultores en las tres provincias vascas.
