Introduction Starting our tour in Cangas, a small fishing village on the Peninsula of O Morrazo, which we will dedicate the day to explore! Located between the estuary of and Aldán and the Atlantic Ocean makes it one of the municipalities with more kilometers of coast of Galicia. It has many beaches (around 38), several of which have awarded the "blue flag" designation for its quality. We will take a walk around the market to learn about the different varieties of fish and seafood caught locally in the bay. At the very tip of the Peninsula, we will walk around the Costa da Vela trail (About 8-12kms of walking in total). Stoping at the Cabo Home (Man´s Cape) lighthouse and visit the golden beach of Melide and 4 different lighthouses offering views of the area from different angles. One of the Lighthouse even dates back to the before the 9th Century used by the Celtic tribes of the region. Monte do Facho rises 189 meters immediately above a cliffed coast called “Costa de la Vela or Soavela”. Over the centuries, this Monte hosted several settlements, some of them linked to the cult of divinities, which makes it a unique space not only in Galicia but also in the Iberian Peninsula. In the close-by village of Donon we will enjoy lunch in a local restaurant offering excellent traditional cuisine with specialties of the area and excellent wines. After lunch, on the way back to Cangas we will make a stop to see the O Hío wayside cross, considered the best wayside cross in Galicia and was carved in 1872.
