BROADBEACH SENIOR AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL CLUB

Established in 1971 the Broadbeach AFL Club is situated on the central Gold Coast a drop punt from Pacific Fair retail precinct, Jupiters Casino and the iconic Broadbeach coastal strip.

The club participates in the Australian Football League (QAFL), the premier competition within the state.

The senior club facilitates men’s Senior and Reserve Grade (rising stars) teams plus an U/18 and half Colts team. And since 2016 season has an established Women’s side competing in the Queensland Women’s Australian Football League (QWAFL). We hope to extend our women’s program in 2017.

The senior club works with a vibrant junior club of 400+ participants catering for all age groups including the exciting frontier in girl’s football.

The club has recently constructed state of the art training facilities, coaching boxes, has access to a swimming pool in the adjacent school (Merrimac High 1500 students), and is serviced by a 7 day licensed sports club attached to the Ord Minnett Oval at Dunlop Crt. Mermaid Waters. In 2016 the club, in a spirit of shared resources, developed a football ground next door in the grounds of the High School.

Broadbeach FC has tasted premiership success on multiple occasions and has an enviable record for development of AFL draftees in Nick Riewoldt, David Hale, Trent Knobel, Luke McGuane, , Lachie Weller, Dean Howard, Joel Wilkinson, Jarred Ellis, Andrew Boston, and Dayne Zorko.

The club, via the Management Committee, has now appointed a General Manager of Football along with underpinning football ops managers. And is in the final stages of the appointment of a strength and conditioning coach and physiotherapist.

Since the off-season commenced the club has also secured the services of 7 recruits and is looking forward to positive results in 2017.

We are now looking to appoint • Assistant Coach/s • Reserve Coach (rising stars) • Team Manager (rising stars reserve grade comp) • Qualified Sports Trainers -strapping and massaging duties to support the men’s senior football teams and senior coach Brett Andrews.

The women’s program is looking for: • Assistant Coaches • Team Managers x 2 • Qualified Sports Trainers • Runners x 2

Participation in training drills will be advantageous for coaching applicants. As will the ability to work on player deficiencies via specific drills.

Commitment is 3 nights a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) December 2016 to March 2017, then April to September 2017 inclusive 3 times per week (Tuesday, Thursday, and game day mainly Saturday).

There is flexibility via arrangement, as the club understands full time work, university studies, and personal life may inhibit 100% attendance.

The club is looking for positive proactive people who can assist skill development, guide and motivate players within a positive enthusiastic environment, and be part of an exciting chapter in the club’s history. The successful applicants will have role ownership and satisfaction as results are achieved.

Good communication skills are essential, including the ability to orchestrate good one-on-one feedback to players in line with senior coach strategies and game plan. Of particular importance is communication between coaches, strength and conditioning staff, football ops personnel and the club Management Committee to ensure we retain our integrity transparency in promoting an elite athlete environment.
