The Angus Council (Scottish Transport Extravaganza at Glamis) (Temporary Traffic Arrangements) Order 2019

Notice is hereby given that on 1 July 2019, under Section 62 of the Roads () Act 1984, Angus Council made an Order which is effective between the hours of 5.00pm on Friday 12 July 2019 and 6.00pm on Sunday 14 July 2019 for the purpose of minimising danger to the public and maintaining free traffic flow in relation to the holding of the above event.

The effect of this Order is to:- (i) prohibit temporarily all vehicular traffic from waiting at any time between 5.00pm on Friday 12 July and 6.00pm on Sunday 14 July, both dates 2019 on:- Dundee Road Glamis (both sides) between Main Street and Perth Old Road, Perth Old Road Glamis (both sides) for its entire length, Main Street, Glamis (north side) from Dundee Road eastwards for a distance of 190metres or thereby; and Main Street, Glamis (south side) from Dundee Road eastwards for a distance of 60 metres or thereby.

(ii) prohibit temporarily all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed in excess of 30mph between 8.00am and 6.00pm each day on Saturday 13 July and Sunday 14 July, both dates 2019 on:- A928 - Glamis - Todhills Road from Perth Old Road northwards to a point 400 metres north of Newton of Glamis Road, a distance of 1550 metres or thereby, and A94 - Perth Road from a point 1.1 kilometres or thereby east of its north junction with A928 Dundee Road generally westwards and northwestwards for a distance of 2.5 kilometres or thereby, and

(iii) prohibit the driving of vehicles between 8.00am and 6.00pm each day on Saturday 13 July and Sunday 14 July, both dates 2019 on:- A94 Forfar - Perth Road at its north and south junctions with A928 Kirriemuir – Glamis – Todhills Road, A94 Forfar - Perth Road at its junction with Old Perth Road, Dundee Road, Glamis at its junction with Main Street, and Main Street, Glamis at its junction with Main access.

The restriction at (iii) above will not be implemented over the full length of road or for the full time period of the Order but will be imposed on the basis of “points” traffic control by Police officers in uniform, as they consider necessary.
