A due passi dal mare, le Alpi Apuane sono un paradiso per gli appassionati di natura e di escursionismo, sia estivo che invernale, ed offrono la possibilità di pernottamento in confortevoli rifugi. Uniche al mondo, nel cuore di queste montagne, le spettacolari cave di marmo bianco di Carrara, materiale lapideo prediletto da artisti come Michelangelo e Canova. Provenendo da nord, incastonata tra due parchi naturali (Alpi Apuane e Appennino Tosco Emiliano), si trova la Lunigiana, che offre la possibilità di interessanti itinerari enogastronomici e soggiorni in agriturismi di pregio, immersi fra verdi colline, castelli, pievi romaniche ed eleganti cittadine come Pontremoli, Fivizzano e Aulla. Sulla costa, Carrara, con il Duomo interamente costruito in marmo, e Massa, dominata dalla fortezza Malaspiniana, offrono centri storici ideali per rilassanti passeggiate all’insegna dell’arte e dello shopping. Il tutto a pochi chilometri dalle ampie spiagge della riviera apuana, ideale proseguimento della Versilia con la zona di Cinquale di Montignoso, Poveromo, Ronchi, Marina di Massa e Marina di Carrara.
USEFUL INFORMATION ABOUT MASSA-CARRARA The characteristic features of the territory of the Province of Massa Carrara, situated in the north of Tuscany, on the borders with Emilia Romagna and Liguria, are the broad beaches, which offer modern fullyequipped bathing establishments and a variety of accommodation facilities. Just a stone’s throw from the sea, the Apuan Alps are a paradise for nature lovers and excursionists, in both winter and summer, offering the possibility to stay overnight in comfortable mountain shelters. Unique of their kind in the world, in the heart of these mountains, the spectacular quarries of white Carrara marble, the precious stone that was the favourite raw material of artists such as Michelangelo and Canova. Approaching from the north, set between two natural parks (the Apuans and the Apennines), we come to Lunigiana, which offers the opportunity of food and wine itineraries and relaxing holidays in luxury farmhouses, among green hills, castles, Romanesque churches and ancient and elegant small cities like Pontremoli and Fivizzano. On the coast, Carrara, with an important Romanesque-Gothic cathedral, entirely faced with marble, and Massa, dominated by the Malaspina fortress, offer to the visitors old town centres, which are ideal sites for evocative walks discovering art and shopping. At easy reach of Versilia, not far from the wide beaches of the Apuan Coast: Cinquale di Montignoso, Poveromo, Ronchi, Marina di Massa and Marina di Carrara.

Le territoire de la province de Massa Carrara, située au nord de la Toscane, aux confins de l’Émilie-Romagne et de la Ligurie, est caractérisé par les amples plages, avec des établissements balnéaires modernes et équipés. À deux pas de la mer, le Parc Régional des Alpes Apuanes est un paradis pour les passionnés de la nature et des randonnées pédestres, aussi bien en été qu’en hiver, et offre la possibilité de passer la nuit dans de confortables refuges. Uniques au monde: en entrant dans le coeur de la montagne, les spectaculaires carrières de marbre blanc, le précieux matériau de prédilection des artistes tels que Michel- Ange et Canova. En provenant du nord, dans une cuvette circonscrite par les Alpes Apuanes et les Apennins, se développe la “Lunigiana”,où on peut faire des itinéraires œnogastronomiques et des séjours dans des agritourismes de valeur plongés à l’intérieur de vertes collines, châteaux, églises paroissiales et gracieuses petites villes comme Pontremoli, Fivizzano et Aulla. Sur la côte, Carrare avec sa cathédrale romano-gothique entièrement revêtue de marbre, et Massa, dominée par la forteresse Malaspiniana, offrent des centres historiques idéals pour des tranquilles promenades et shopping. Au confin méridional de la province, tout près de la Versilia, on trouve les amples plages di Cinquale di Montignoso, Poveromo, Marina di Massa et Marina di Carrara.

Die im Norden der Toskana an der Grenze zu Emilia Romagna und Ligurien gelegene Provinz Massa Carrara findet im Meer, in den Apuanischen Alpen, breiten Stränden und guten ausgerüsteten Badeanstalten und Hotels ihre charakteristischen Elemente. Gleich hinter dem Meer liegt der Regionalpark der Apuanischen Alpen, ein Paradies für Naturliebhaber und Wanderfreunde, mit Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten in komfortablen Berghütten. Im Herzen der Apuanischen Alpen befinden sich die wunderschönen, weltweit einmaligen weißen Marmorsteinbrüche. Dieser Stein inspirierte Künstler wie Michelangelo und Canova zu wunderbaren Meisterwerken. Von Norden kommend findet man eingezwängt zwischen den Apuanischen Alpen und den Apenninen die Lunigiana, ein uraltes Gebiet, wo zahlreiche Burgen, wie Pontremoli, Fivizzano und Aulla, Dörfer und romanische Kirchen die charakterisierenden Elemente einer sanften und stillen Hügellandschaft sind. An der Küste, die Stadt Carrara, mit ihrem bedeutenden romanisch- gotischen Dom, der gänzlich mit Marmor aufgebaut ist, und Massa, mit der Festung Cybo-Malaspina, sind historische Innenstädte, die ideal für wunderschöne Spaziergänge sind, um Kunst zu entdecken oder Shopping zu machen. An der südlichen Grenze der Provinz, nicht weit vom Versiliagebiet finden wir: Marina di Carrara, Marina di Massa, Ronchi, Poveromo und Cinquale di Montignoso.
