Reporting to the Director of Drama and the Deputy Head Co-Curricular and Outreach, the Head of Productions and Co-Curricular Drama will manage a high quality co-curricular drama offer on site at Roedean, including productions. The post holder will also lead and contribute to the programme of classes delivered by visiting LAMDA teachers. The Head of Productions and Co-Curricular Drama will contribute to curriculum teaching in the Drama department, as well as running Drama clubs.

The post holder will provide the creative and operational vision for Roedean’s production offer in consultation with the Director of Drama, and will direct or assistant direct Roedean’s productions throughout the year, including for Open Days. Additionally, the Head of Productions and Co- Curricular Drama will be responsible for developing our after-hours Performing Arts Acting School, which provides pupils with courses in approaches to acting, technical theatre, and costume and props. Main Duties

• Development and oversight of co-curricular Drama offer including timetabled enrichment courses for KS3 and KS5 • Developing the creative and operational vision for the school’s production offer, including liaising with the marketing department to advertise the offer • Producing and directing/assistant directing school productions as agreed with the Director of Drama eg: senior or junior school production, house drama, LAMDA showcase • Teaching of curriculum drama lessons where required and as directed by the Director of Drama • Setting up and running drama clubs as part of the co-curricular programme. • Supporting and contributing to Open Day and other school events as agreed. • Being involved in the selection process of Drama scholars. • Planning and delivering aspects of a high quality scholarship programme • Leading all aspects of our after-hours Performing Arts Acting School including, where necessary, working with the Director of Drama and Senior Team on recruiting visiting specialists • Leadership and oversight of LAMDA • Line management of LAMDA teachers – as well as teaching spaces and required equipment and resources • Teaching private and duo LAMDA Lessons when required • Regular meetings with LAMDA teachers and with the Director of Drama, and as required with relevant members of Senior Team • Oversight of LAMDA exam entries and arrangements on examination days. • Discussing lessons and queries with parents, and writing reports as required. • Liaising with teachers for exam entries/entries effecting timetables. • Liaising with the Bursary: re: charging group and private lessons to parents and payroll for teachers/ timesheets. • Sharing a tutor group as a form tutor

• Specialist Drama Teacher, with a good honours degree, able to teach Drama from KS3 up to A Level. The ability and experience to be able to contribute confidently to GCSE and A Level teaching would be an advantage.
