Happy Halloween!

Members from all fraternities and sororities were 34TH ANNUAL represented at the 34th Annual Shepherd University Student Leadership Conference. Attendees STUDENT participated in sessions in order to gain knowledge, LEADERSHIP enhance their leadership skills, network, and develop themselves professionally and as a leader within their CONFERENCE organizations, campus, and community. SERVICE LEARNING

Our groups have been , actively involved in , service projects Delta , and throughout the month. PHILANTHROPY SHOWCASE

SIGMA SIGMA SIGMA ALPHA SIGMA TAU ALPHA & & SINFONIA TAU THETA XI

The brothers of Phi Mu and Alpha Sigma Tau placed Alpha Sinfonia visited first, and Theta Xi placed the Martinsburg VA collaborated to host a second in the Campus Medical Center and the cornhole tournament to Cares Competition: Pack Canterbury Center to raise money for each of the Pantry 1. SHEP-OR-TREAT Organizations volunteered their night to host games, activities, and pass out candy to community members participating in Shepherd University's annual Shep-or- Treat! MEMBERS OF THE MONTH

NOAH HERTERT, DELTA SIGMA PI Noah Hertert, president of Delta Sigma Pi, was recognized as the National Collegian of the Year. This annual award is presented to the an outstanding collegiate member of Delta Sigma Pi who exemplifies the values and ideals of the fraternity and serves to acknowledge that member's contributions, achievements, participation, and personal character. This award is the highest honor of Delta Sigma Pi!

ELIZABETH METHENY, Delta Zeta alumna Elizabeth "Lizzy" Whetzel Metheny '06 was nationally recognized as a Delta Zeta "35 Under 35" Honoree. Delta Zeta launched this recognition program in 2018 to highlight outstanding young professionals who have achieved success by making a significant impact in their industry through leadership, initiative, dedication, and service before the age of 35. Elizabeth is currently the assistant professor of Extension for Hardy County, West Virginia, and works to facilitate nutrition, health, youth, and community development programming and research. BENJAMIN HAINES, THETA XI Benjamin Haines, associate member of Theta Xi, participated with the Shepherd Debate Team in a National Forensics Association tournament at Marshall University. Ben represented Shepherd in various competitions over two days, winning 3rd and 5th place in Poetry Interpretation (qualifying him for Nationals in San Diego this upcoming spring), 3rd and 4th place in a duo Dramatic Interpretation, and 6th place in Impromptu Speaking.

CHARLOTTE BELLOTTE, SIGMA SIGMA SIGMA Sigma Sigma Sigma alumna Charlotte Bellotte '16 was recently crowned as Miss West Virginia USA 2020. Charlotte graduated from Shepherd in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in communication and new media, went on to receive a master's degree in mass communication at Louisiana State University in 2019, and is currently a research assistant for the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
