1. Preamble The Slot.it oXigen Le Mans 24 hours is a twenty-four hour endurance race for 1/32 scale slot racing cars. The race is run using the wireless digital slot racing system, Slot.it oXigen. The event takes place at the Henley Sports Centre, Henley-In-Arden, UK. Race weekend includes practice and qualifying on the preceding Friday, with further sessions on Saturday morning. The race will begin at 15:00 GMT on Saturday afternoon.

The circuit layout is a replica of Circuit La Sarthe, Le Mans, France. It is built from Ninco track pieces and lane change sections, which have been modified using Slot.it oXigen LC drivers. The circuit features four lanes and a working pit lane.

• The Mulsanne straight has no chicanes • Dunlop curve is a single sweeping right hand corner • The Esses leading to Tertre Rouge corner follow the pre-2003 configuration.

Some parts of the circuit are decorated with scenery. During night-time running, the circuit will operate with the hall lights switched off. Some parts of the circuit will feature decorative lighting.

The race itself lasts for 24 hours, and the eligible cars will be split into multiple categories based on their type.

All models built must be accurate representations of Le Mans racing cars constructed in the spirit of a 1/32 scale replica.

Awards will be given for;

• Winner of the Concours d’Elegance as judged by team captains • The fastest single lap time posted during official qualifying • The top three finishing positions in each category, and the winner of the race overall • The Spirit of Le Mans award, given at the discretion of the organizers

2. The organization 2.1. Official referees will wear a red lanyard and ID badge 2.2. Team captains will wear a yellow lanyard and ID badge 2.3. All other team members will wear a blue lanyard and ID badge 2.4. Race control will be staffed by an official referee

2.5. The responsibilities of race control include, but are not limited to; 2.5.1. Drivers singing in/out 2.5.2. Monitoring the status of the race or practice session 2.5.3. Making the decision if the race should be stopped or run under caution for any reason 2.5.4. Timing and scoring 2.5.5. Issuing penalties 2.5.6. Acting custodians of hand-out motors and tyres

3. Teams 3.1. Teams must have a minimum of three (3) drivers 3.2. Teams may have a maximum of six (6) drivers 3.3. All teams must have a designated team captain 3.4. Non-driving team members are allowed 3.5. All team members must sign-on with race control when arriving at the sports hall 3.6. All team members must be present for the driver’s briefing on Saturday

3.7. All team members must be present for the presentation ceremony following the race on Sunday

3.8. The responsibilities of team captains include, but are not limited to; 3.8.1. General control and conduct of team members 3.8.2. Reporting any issues or indiscretions to race control 3.8.3. All driver’s responsibilities 3.9. The responsibilities of drivers, when driving, include, but are not limited to; 3.9.1. Driving the car in a safe and considerate manner 3.9.2. Reporting any issues or indiscretions to their team captain only 3.9.3. All non-driving team members responsibilities 3.10. The responsibilities on non-driving team members include, but are not limited to; 3.10.1.1.Build and/or maintenance of car 3.10.1.2.Communicating scoring information to other members of their team 3.10.1.3.Reporting issues or indiscretions to their team captain only 3.10.1.4.Communicating signals or penalties awarded to their team to other team members

3.11. The event will be marshaled at all times by team members. 3.11.1.All team members must take turns to marshal the race, practice session or qualifying session 3.11.2.Marshal posts are identified by numbers and arrows on laminated cards 3.11.3.At the start of the race, teams will occupy the marshal position equal to their qualifying position 3.11.4.Marshals will rotate around the circuit every hour in the clockwise direction 3.11.5.The responsibilities of the marshal include, but are not limited to; 3.11.5.1.Clearing the circuit of crashed cars 3.11.5.2.Clearing the circuit of other impediments 3.11.5.3.Replacing crashed cars onto the circuit only when it is safe and clear to do so 3.11.5.3.1.Marshals must check for on-coming traffic when replacing crashed cars. Non- compliance by the marshal may result in a penalty for the marshal’s team 3.11.5.4.Removing broken-down or malfunctioning cars from the circuit 3.11.5.5.Repairing to the best of their ability, any damaged or displaced scenery, so that no obstruction remains to any car within the limits of the circuit 3.11.5.6.Reporting any issues or indiscretions to race control 3.11.6.The responsibilities of marshals does not include; 3.11.6.1.Repairing broken-down or malfunctioning cars 3.11.6.2.Delivering broken-down or malfunctioning cars to the pit lane 3.11.6.3.Delivering broken-down or malfunctioning cars to a team member 3.11.6.4.Repairing damaged or malfunctioning pieces of the circuit

4. Technical regulations

4.1. The race is open to 1/32 scale slot racing models of cars that raced at Le Mans between, and including, the years 2008 to 2013. All cars must comply with the technical sheet found in Appendix A. 4.2. Cars will be grouped by category based on their type. Categories are as follows: 4.2.1. P1 – “P1” 4.2.2. Le Mans Prototype P2 – “P2” 4.2.3. Grand Tourisme – “GT”

4.3. Body shells must be 1/32 scale, ±3.0mm, in all dimensions and directions 4.4. Body shells must be made from injection moulded plastic, resin, glass-fibre or accepted ‘hard-body’ construction approved by the organizers 4.5. Paint schemes that do not match a car entered into the Le Mans 24 Hours during the time period specified must be approved by the organizers 4.5.1. Sponsor logos may be changed 4.5.2. In the case of a low-detail body, for example a one-piece moulding, any detail features must be painted and presented sympathetically to place emphasis on the detail 4.5.3. 4.6. In addition to the paint scheme, a decal set provided by the organization must be used to decorate the car as detailed in Appendix B

4.7. Windows and light lenses must be clear 4.7.1. All windows must be present at the start of the race 4.7.2. Windows with any side equal to or longer than 15mm must be fitted at all times 4.7.3. Light lenses may be coloured translucent 4.8. Spoilers and wings must be fitted at all times 4.9. Wing mirrors must be fitted at the start of the race 4.10. The organizers reserve the right to request any detached body part be replaced 4.11. A driver’s cockpit must be fitted.The driver’s cockpit must feature, at the bare minimum; 4.11.1.Dashboard 4.11.2.Three-dimensional (3D) driver’s head and/or helmet, bust and arms 4.11.3.Seat back 4.11.4.The driver and cockpit must be painted. Unpainted driver’s cockpits are illegal 4.12. No mechanical parts of the car, except for the guide flag, wheels and tyres, should be visible from any angle when the car is placed on the circuit. 4.12.1.It is not necessary to cover gear teeth protruding from the bottom of the 4.12.2.oXigen wireless antenna may be visible 4.13. Any part of the real car, visible from any angle when the car is on the circuit, that does not include bodywork, must be present on the model. Examples include but are not limited to; 4.13.1.Floorpan 4.13.2.Splitter 4.13.3.Diffuser 4.13.4.Radiators/grilles 4.13.5.Exhaust pipe 4.14. Bodies may be mounted to the chassis using threaded screws, or peg-and-cup method (eg HRS) only. 4.14.1.There is no restriction on the number of threaded screws used for body mounting 4.14.2.All threaded screws must be covered with a non-conducting material to prevent a short-circuit with the circuit rails 4.14.3.It is illegal to mount bodies using pins, tape, velcro or other non-specified methods 4.14.4.Any interface between the chassis and body shell that permits independent movement, other than that achieved directly at the point of fixing (eg threaded screw), is illegal 4.15. The minimum allowed mass for any body shell, excluding threaded screws, is 17.5g 4.16. A single identical spare body shell is allowed to be used in the following circumstances only; 4.16.1.Lighting kit failure on original body 4.16.2.Total destruction of original body and/or mounting posts 4.16.3.In all cases, repair of original body is encouraged 4.17. All superficial damage to original bodies must be repaired. 4.17.1.The repair of bodies using tape is allowed 4.17.1.1.Windows must not be covered by an opaque film 4.18. The organizers reserve the right to declare any unsuitable body illegal for contravening the spirit of the event

4.19. Chassis must be made from plastic 4.20. The chassis is defined as; “The carrier of the motor, axels, and guide flag” 4.21. Any independent motor carrier, and associated fixings, is included in the definition of “chassis” and not considered a separate component, for the purposes of rule making 4.22. A single identical spare chassis may be submitted to race control to be kept under parc ferme conditions, until is is needed due to exceptional circumstance 4.22.1.If necessitated, the chassis may be swapped once only. The original chassis will be held by race control until the end of the race 4.23. Ballast is allowed. 4.23.1.Ballast must not be visible from any view of the car, including when viewed from the bottom 4.23.2.Ballast must be securely fixed in place at all times 4 Slot.it oXigen Le Mans 24 hours 2014 Official Regulations v.14–2

4.23.3.All ballast must be contained within the boundaries of the chassis 4.23.4.Ballast must not be used in a manner that it acts as a structural component

4.24. Motors are handed out to teams when signing on. Detail given in Appendix A; 4.1 Technical Sheet 4.25. Teams will be given two (2) motors, of the same type, of their choice 4.25.1.Teams may not choose from the motors available 4.25.2.Motor cans must be insulated from the circuit rails 4.25.3.Motor shafts may be shortened under the supervision of a race official 4.25.4.Any other modification to a supplied motor is illegal

4.26. Front tyres must be rubber. 4.26.1.On front tyres only, the use of varnish (or alternative) is allowed to cover the surface tyre with a hard coating 4.27. Rear tyres are supplied by the organizers. Detail given in Appendix A; 4.1 Technical Sheet 4.27.1.Rear tyres are kept by race control 4.27.1.1.Teams may request a single pair of tyres to be supplied to them by race control as and when they are required 4.27.1.2.Used tyres will be kept by race control, and may be re-used if required 4.27.2.Cutting down rear tyres to reduce the width is allowed 4.27.3.Allotted tyres must be used during all free practice and qualifying sessions 4.27.4.Fixing rear tyres to wheels with glue is illegal 4.28. The surface of any tyre may be cleaned with tape or lighter petrol only

4.29. Cars must start the race with two (2) working headlights and two (2) working taillights. 4.29.1.A working brake light, even when not lit under acceleration, is considered to be a working taillight 4.29.2.A minimum of one (1) working headlight and one (1) working taillight must remain functional at all times 4.30. There is no maximum number of headlights or taillights, providing that the light installation mimics the real car 4.31. LEDs for Prototype (P1 + P2) headlights must be bright white or xenon white 4.32. LEDs for GT (GT) headlights must be yellow1 4.33. LEDs for all taillights must be red 4.34. LEDs fitted to the car for identification purposes are allowed. 4.34.1. ID LEDs may be any colour 4.34.2.A single LED 3mm in diameter or smaller may be fitted inside the driver’s cockpit 4.34.3.A maximum of three LED lights of the same colour may be fitted to each side of the car providing that the installation is sympathetic to the purpose of mimicking the “top 3” position light indicators used in the Le Mans 24 Hours 4.35. Any manufactured lighting kit is allowed 4.36. Custom lighting circuits are allowed 4.37. LEDs do not effect the eligibility of the chassis or body in any way and are not considered illegal when considering regulations that govern either 4.38. The organizers reserve the right to declare any light installation illegal on the basis it provides insufficient illumination 4.39. The organizers reserve the right to declare any light installation illegal on the basis that it is not installed in a manner which is sympathetic to it’s purpose

4.40. A single t-car may used for testing purposes, the usage of which is included in the registration fee. 4.40.1.T-cars must be fully legal and are allowed on the track in free practice sessions only 4.40.2.T-cars must have an identical body shell to the registered car 4.40.3.T-cars will be assigned the same oXigen digital ID as the registered car

5. The circuit

5.1.Power to the circuit is DC 13.8V (regulated). Rails are live at all times. 5.1.1.Maximum current available is 30a 5.1.2.Maximum power available to the motor may be restricted by race control via the RMS. In other words, cars may run at lower maximum speed than 13.8V delivers, at the discretion of race control

5.2.Alongside the start/finish straight is a working pit lane. 5.2.1.All cars must enter the circuit from the pit lane 5.2.2.All cars requiring service must pull into the pit lane and be fully stopped before being removed from the track 5.2.3.The pit lane features sensors that limit the speed of the cars that use it 5.2.4.The only work allowed at the side of the track is cleaning of braids and tyres 5.2.5.In addition; 5.2.5.1.Body screws may be adjusted, but not removed 5.2.5.2.Body repairs that do not require the removal of any component may be carried out at the side of the track 5.2.6.Any work that requires any part of the car to be changed or removed must be done at a pit table 5.2.7.Any work that requires the body to be removed must be done at a pit table 5.2.8.The use of compressed air at the side of the track is illegal 5.2.9.All cars re-joining the circuit must do so from the pit lane 5.2.9.1.It is the responsibility of the driver to check for oncoming traffic when exiting the pit lane. Failure to do so that results in a collision will be punishable by penalty 5.3.Entering or re-entering the circuit in any way other than from the pit lane is illegal

5.4.The circuit will have between ten (10) and sixteen (16) marshal posts. 5.4.1.Marshal posts are indicated by laminated card with a number (1–16) and arrow 5.4.2.Marshal posts may be accompanied by seating or mats provided by the organizers. These should not be moved or swapped as they are arranged with driver visibility in mind 5.4.3.Some marshal posts may be accompanied with ‘grabbers’ for assistance with retrieving crashed cars

5.5.The circuit infield is out of bounds at all times. 5.5.1.In the event it is necessary to retrieve a crashed car from the infield, marshals should cross the circuit at a point that will cause least obstruction the the drivers. Marshals on the infield should crouch or keep as low as possible until it is appropriate to cross back to the outside of the circuit 5.6.Stepping onto the circuit at any time during the event is strictly prohibited

6. Qualifying

6.1. All drivers must complete three (3) ‘flying’ laps of any qualifying session in order to take part in the race 6.2. Driver position on the rostrum for the qualifying session will be chosen at random by race control. Positions will be posted in advance of each qualifying session 6.3. All drivers must sign on at racing control before taking control of the car during an official qualifying session 6.4. Cars may be called in for technical inspection during any qualifying session 6.5. All qualifying lap times set in any session count. Only the best time for each car counts. 6.5.1. All lap times set by a car later found to be illegal will be erased 6.6. The fastest qualifying lap time set by each car will determine; 6.6.1. The order of the starting grid 6.6.2. 6.8. Drivers may only participate in the race by driving a car that they have qualified

7. The race

7.1. The race will have a total duration of 24 hours. 7.1.1. If the race is red flagged for any reason, the downtime will not be made up after 24 hours is completed 7.2. The race will begin with cars paired together on the central lanes, as dictated by the result of official qualifying. 7.2.1. A limited number of warm-up laps may be completed under caution conditions 7.2.2. Caution conditions will be terminated as soon as it is deemed suitable by race control 7.2.3. All laps count as part of timing and scoring 7.3. Any inspection or maintenance of the car must be done after the car has stopped in the pit lane. 7.3.1. Any work that does not require removal of any component may be done on the pit lane. For example – cleaning tyres 7.3.2. Any work that requires the removal of any component from the car must be done at a designated pit table after the car has stopped in the pit lane. Examples of such work include, but are not limited to; 7.3.2.1.Changing braid 7.3.2.2.Removal of body shell or body screws 7.3.2.3.Changing tyres and/or wheels 7.4. Driver changes can only take place when the car is either; 7.4.1. Stationary in the pit lane 7.4.2. Removed from the circuit for maintenance 7.5. Any one driver is limited to a maximum of four (4) consecutive hours driving the car 7.6. Any one driver is limited to a maximum of fourteen (14) hours driving, in total, during the race

7.7. The race may be run under caution, at the discretion of race control, in the following instances; 7.7.1. Isolated loss of circuit power 7.7.2. Faulty lane changing mechanism on the circuit 7.7.3. Excessive debris blocking the circuit 7.7.4. Other isolated circuit malfunction 7.8. The race may be paused (red flag), at the discretion of race control, in the following instances; 7.8.1. Total loss of circuit power 7.8.2. Total loss of 9V supply for hand controllers 7.8.3. Faulty lane changing mechanism in the pit lane 7.8.4. Circuit becomes blocked 7.8.5. Other power or system failure in the venue 7.8.6. Loss of timing and scoring system 7.8.7. Fire alarm sounds 7.9. The status of the race will not change in the following instances; 7.9.1. Car or component mechanical failure 7.9.2. Malfunctioning hand controller 7.9.3. Isolated loss of 9V supply for hand controller(s) 7.9.4. Cars and/or components are misplaced by team members

7.10. The winner will be the car that has covered the greatest distance, measured in complete laps, in the 24 hour period. 7.10.1.In the case that two or more cars have completed the same number of laps, the final finishing position of each car on the track will determine which car has covered the greatest distance

8. Other equipment

8.1. The use of the Slot.it SCP-1 hand controller with oXigen wireless cartridge is mandatory 8.2. Slot.it SCP-1 wireless hand controllers with oXigen module are available to hire from the organizers. 8.2.1. A limited number of spare hand controllers will be available should any hand controller malfunction. There will be no charge for any team that requires use of a spare hand controller 8.2.2. Multiple controllers per team are not allowed 8.3. All hand controllers must be plugged into the loom on the drivers rostrum. The loom delivers 9.0V DC. 8.3.1. Hand controllers must not be un-plugged from the power source during racing unless advised by race control.

8.4. All tools and consumables must be supplied by the entrants. Tools will not be supplied by the organizers 8.5. Two-way radio is allowed 8.6. Teams will be allocated a dedicated ‘base-camp’ table 8.7. Standard UK 240V electric sockets are available around the hall. European adapters are available from race control 8.8. Wi-Fi wireless internet connection is available inside the hall 8.9. Playing music or streaming other forms of media is discouraged 8.10. Team ‘base-camp’ tables are allowed one low-powered light only 8.11. Dedicated pit tables will feature the following services; 8.11.1.Standard UK 240V electrical sockets. European adapters available from race control. 8.11.2.Low-powered lighting 8.11.3.Live track and hand controller power (9.0V DC)

9. Sporting regulations

9.1.Any indiscretion against regulations stated in this document are punishable by a penalty 9.2.Any car on the circuit must be legal at all times

9.3.When lapping a slower car, it is the responsibility of the faster car to change lanes and perform an overtake. Lapped cars should remain in their current lane until the faster car has passed. 9.3.1.Intentionally blocking of a faster car when lapping is illegal 9.3.2.Intentionally blocking a car fighting for position on the same lap is allowed 9.4.Contact from cars racing on the same lane, in proximity, is to be expected. Intentional or excessive contact is not allowed. Penalties will be issued in the following circumstances; 9.4.1.Intentional or excessive contact with another car 9.4.2.De-slotting another car by driving into the back of it 9.4.3.Intentionally stopping on the circuit 9.4.4.Excessive blocking by changing lanes when being lapped 9.5.Illegal contact may be reported to race control by any team member. Any three cumulative reports of illegal conduct will result in mandatory penalty for the offending team

9.6.Cars may be requested to pit for attention under the following circumstances; 9.6.1.Any functional or mechanical part of the car has become completely detached from the car 9.6.2.A wing or spoiler becomes broken, completely detached from the body, or it is clear to the official at race control that when viewing the car from his/her normal position, that it is damaged 9.6.3.The required number of headlights/taillights are not working 9.6.4.A car is otherwise causing a hazard that may damage the circuit or other cars on the circuit

9.7.If any session is under pace-car conditions, the following restrictions apply; 9.7.1.Circuit power will be limited by race control 9.7.2.Lane changing will be disabled 9.7.3.The pit lane will not be accessible under caution 9.7.4.Cars may be ‘forced’ onto specific lanes by race control 8 Slot.it oXigen Le Mans 24 hours 2014 Official Regulations v.14–2

9.8.Slow or malfunctioning cars should move to the inside lane and pit as soon as possible. Race control should be notified that there is a slow car on circuit so other drivers may be warned 9.9.The live display screen may, at times, be used to show warning flags to drivers. Examples of warning flags include; 9.9.1.Green flag. Normal racing conditions 9.9.2.Yellow flag. Race under caution conditions 9.9.3.Red flag. Race is stopped / paused 9.9.4.White flag. Slow car on circuit – move to outer lanes 9.9.5.Black flag with official racing number. Car (ID) has been issued with a penalty and must report to the pit within 5 laps 9.9.6.Black and orange flag with official racing number. Car (ID) is required to pit for repairs

10. Penalties

10.1.The standard penalty for indiscretion will be ten (10) second stop-and-go 10.1.1.Penalties may be upgraded at the discretion of race control 10.2.Cars which require repairs, in the case of a broken wing or incorrect number or working lights, must to return to the pit and resolve the issue. No other penalty will be awarded. 10.2.1.In the event that such an issue cannot be resolved, the team will be awarded a one-time one hundred (100) lap penalty, which will be taken from the total recorded distance at the end of the race 10.3.Any team eligible to serve a penalty will be notified over the PA system. 10.3.1.The team has five (5) laps grace to return to the pit and serve the penalty 10.3.2.Failure to return to the pit within five laps will result in race control sending a ‘force pit’ signal to the car. It will return to the pit lane under control of the RMS 10.3.3.In the case that a car that is forced to the pit on under the control of the RMS, the stop-go penalty will be extended to twenty (20) seconds 10.4.Race control reserves the right to override control of any car due to some exceptional circumstance

11. Registration

11.1.The grid is limited to 16 cars 11.2.The first 16 teams to register a car will be entered into the race 11.3.Official racing numbers will be assigned to the team following registration 11.3.1.The official racing number will match the oXigen digital car ID 11.4.Registration is considered official upon; 11.4.1.Receipt of the entry form 11.4.2.Receipt of deposit in full 11.5.Up to 4 additional teams will added to a reserve list 11.6.In the event that a registered team does not process payment in full by 31st January, the first reserve will be invited to take their place. 12. Fees 12.1.The entry fee is £205.00 GBP / €225.00 per car 12.2.The deposit required for registration is £25.00 / €25.00.
