Prof. Yahia BOUHALEB Président de l‟Université Chouaib Doukkali 4 FOREWORD The "Geodynamics, Geo-education and Geoheritage" Research Group of the Geology Department, Faculty of Sciences, Chouaïb Doukkali University, El Jadida (Morocco) in collaboration with the African Association of Women in Geosciences (AAWG), the Arabian Geosciences Union (ArabGU), the African Geoparks Network (AGN) and the Association “Civilisations Sans Frontières (CiSaF)” organize jointly the 2nd ArabGU International Conference (AIC2), the 9th AAWG Conference (CAAWG9) and the 3rd International Conference on Geoparks in Africa and Middle-East (ICGAME3). This joint congress entitled “First International Congress on Geosciences (ICG1)” is hosted by the Faculty of Sciences, Chouaïb Doukkali University, El Jadida (Morocco). The AAWG, the ArabGU and the AGN are supporting the development of Earth Sciences in Africa and Middle-East by providing opportunities for networking and promoting the applications of Earth Sciences for sustainable development. These organizations are conducting numerous activities to address various challenges that Africa and Middle-East are facing and to which Earth Sciences could make a contribution. In order to strengthen the collaboration between Africa and Middle-East, this joint congress is being organized for the first time in Morocco. To meet these objectives, we choose as a title for our joint congress "Earth Sciences for Society". This congress constitutes also an opportunity to launch officially the "Day of Earth Sciences in Africa and Middle-East (DESAME)" initiated and organized by AAWG and AGN the 20th March of each year. The day aims to increase the awareness about the role that Earth Scientists could play to help to build a peaceful, healthier and wealthier continent. First celebrated in 2013, the DESAME is at its 6th edition that will be celebrated this year under the same theme of the congress. The DESAME is supported by numerous national and international organizations, public institutions and local governments. This volume includes 234abstracts sent by authors representing 38 countries (Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Cameroon, China, Congo- Brazzaville, Côte d‟Ivoire, DR Congo, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Iraq, Italy, Kenya, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mongolia, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Peru Pakistan, Portugal, Romania, Rwanda, Senegal, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Togo, Tunisia,Turkey, Uganda,Ukraine, and United Kingdom). Our special thanks go to all those individuals and institutions that supported morally orfinancially this congress. We would like to take this opportunity to thank especially the Chouaib Doukkali University, the Faculty of Sciences of El Jadida, the Reseach Group “Geodynamics, Geo-education & Geoheritage” and the Association Civilisations Sans Frontières for having accepting to be part of this special event. All the colleagues of the Geology Department and the administrative staffs are deeply thanked. All our international partners (PROGEO, IAPG, IGEO) and independent international experts are gratefully acknowledged for organizing four workshops, during that joint congress, focused on Social responsibility in Earth Science Education, active Earth science for classrooms in Africa and the Middle East, Geoethics,Geoheritage and Geoconservation. We would like also to deeply thank the Minsitry of National Education, Professional Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research of Morocco and the Ministry of Foreign affairs of Morocco and the Moroccan consulates for their support. 5 ANESI/UNESCO, OCP Group, PERTCI C11, Douala University andGASup, the sponsors of that event, deserve a great deal of credit and thanks for their support. We would like also to thank our key speakers and the organizing and scientific committees and all the volunteers that are accompanying us during that event. The objective of this article is to extend the discussion on regional disparities, by focusing on the socio-economic dimensions, we have opted for unidimensional statistical approaches by highlighting the distribution and dispersion of a set of socio-economic indicators covering education and employment, health, housing conditions and poverty and living standards; and multidimensional techniques that allowed us to design a synthetic regional development indicator, classify the regions according to the level of development, highlight the gaps and finally draw a development map in Morocco. The analysis of regional disparities through the distribution of the values of the elementary indicators, then the composite social development index, and the regional development

  • Projections De La Population Des Regions Et Des Provinces 2014-2030

  • Morocco Administrative Structure
INFORMATION PAPER Morocco: Administrative Structure On 20 February 2015 the Moroccan government issued Decree No. 2-15-401, outlining the modified administrative structure of the country. This reorganisation is the result of a government programme aimed at giving each of the regions autonomy, and a greater autonomy to the regions coinciding with Western Sahara. In 2010, the Consultative Commission for Regionalization was formed to tackle this subject. The commission prepared a report proposing to reorganize Morocco into 12 regions. The new 12-region structure constitutes a regrouping of the existing provinces and prefectures2 and replaces the previous structure of 16 regions. The decree states that Morocco is divided into 12 regions. However, since Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab3 falls entirely in the territory of Western Sahara4, this would not be included on UK products as part of Morocco. The region of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra falls partly into Western Sahara but as part of it is in Morocco, it is recognised as part of Morocco’s administrative structure and the part outside Western Sahara can be shown on UK mapping. Russo Eggs and eggshells of Crocodylomorpha from the Upper Jurassic of Portugal Acknowledgments As such an important step of my still short academic journey comes to a close, it comes the time to remember that I would never be able to have done this on my own, without the unwavering support and invaluable input of so many people, too many to name them all here. First and foremost, my deepest appreciation and thanks to my supervisor Professor Octávio Mateus, for granting me the possibility to study the material on this thesis and giving me the opportunity to be a part of such an important research project and become something I’ve aspired since I can remember. I appreciate the many eye opening discussions we had on Paleontology in general, and on Paleoology in particular, his counseling, and for making sure I was on the right track! None of this would be possible of course without the invaluable help of my co-supervisor, Professor Ausenda Balbino, who always made sure that I had every resource and support I needed to achieve the goals during this Master’s and this research.

C. Young and other elder paleontologists to the discoveries of the Late Cretaceous dinosaurs and dinosaur eggs from Laiyang, and introduce the new discoveries and the advances in the research on the Laiyang faunas. The new investigations in Laiyang from 2008 have found a series of valley developed in plain and more than ten new dinosaur or dinosaur egg fossil beds. In 2010, we began the massive excavations at two localities in Jingangkou and collected abundant dinosaurs and other vertebrate fossils, such as a new saurolophine, some theropod material and a new taxon of turtle egg. The bone beds in Locality 2 with the typical sedimentary and burial patterns of mudflow, and these fossil deposits are interpreted as having been carried and deposited by mudflow. The re-observation and the CT scanning data of the crest of Tsintaosaurus spinorhinus (IVPP V 725) show that the crest is fractured and solid.
