Sheila Godfrey, was amongst the first to recognise the long-term benefits of the Intense Pulsed and Laser systems. After extensive research into laser and pulsed light removal systems, she introduced the Epilight IPL system into her Clinic during 1997. She regularly gives presentations on the Lasers and IPL technology and has been involved with the training programme for the distributing company Lumenis. Sheila has acted as an expert witness in Epilation / IPL for a number of legal firms.

Sheila Godfrey is the author of 'The Principles and Practice of Electrical Epilation' the definitive textbook on electrolysis used widely by qualified electrologists and students, both nationally and internationally. Her reference/text book “ Advanced Epilation – (introducing Lasers and IPL for the treatment of benign vascular abnormalities) was published in March 2004.This text is the definitive book on the treatment of cosmetic vascular malformations and removal of tags. She is also co-author of BTEC Beauty Sciences published by Heinemann in July 2004.

Sheila Godfrey, a qualified Beauty Therapist (1970) and Electrologist (1976) has wide experience in both the clinical and teaching fields. Formerly lecturer in charge of Beauty Therapy at Gloucester College of Arts & Technology, she has been actively involved with the education teams of the British Association of Beauty Therapy and (BABTAC), British Association of Electrolysis and The Institute of Electrolysists. For many years Sheila examined for the CGLI, CIDESCO and CIBTAC in a number of countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Kuala Lumpur, Finland, Malta, India, Ireland, Singapore and South Africa.. During 2000 -2003 she was a member of the Panel involved with the formation and setting of IPL/Laser standards for HABIA. (Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority) She joined the Society of Expert Witnesses in 2000.

1984 Sheila Godfrey opened the Electrolysis and Skin Therapy Centre which offered a wide range of beauty therapy treatments with the specialist emphasis being on with short wave diathermy and blend electrolysis.

In 1998 Sheila Godfrey Introduced the Epilight Intense Pulsed Light system into her Clinic for long term hair removal which proved to be very successful. In 2002 this was followed by the Lumenis Vasculite to incorporate medical aesthetic treatments such as photo rejuvenation, treatment of cosmetic vascular abnormalities and pigmentation disturbances.

In 2007 Set up and delivered the Unit of Laser and Intense Pulsed light for hair removal and skin treatments as part of the Degree in Spa Management - Warwickshire College
