The Town of Arborg, which became its own entity in 1964, is located alongside the Icelandic River in ’s Interlake Region, 100 kilometres north of . More than 100 years ago and originally known as Ardal, the area became home to many Icelandic, Polish and Ukrainian settlers. The population oba increased with the coming of the railroad in 1910.

Today, with its many businesses and services, Arborg serves as the main n i t service centre for residents and communities in the region. Farming plays a an important role in the local economy. Grain and oilseed crops, livestock producers, and more unique operations like PMU producers operate in the area.

M Many residents also make their living fishing year-round on . An , alfalfa dehydrating facility is currently being developed that will have the ability to ship dry product to foreign markets.

Arborg has many recreational, sporting and cultural activities. The Arborg Recreation Complex houses a skating arena, curling rink, community hall, day care, playground, and a baseball park.
