135 miles end to end MassDOT – Tolled Facilities • Combined Traffic / Revenue – 218 million annual transactions • 597K average daily transactions • Averages greater than 700K on weekdays – $331 million annual revenue – 73% of transactions are paid for via ETC Reasons to Consider AET AET Feasibility Study • Evaluated “As-is”, ORT, and AET • Study determined AET: – Simplifies Roadway Operations – Highest traffic and environmental benefits – Least disruptive to implement – Best long term value – Best customer service for toll-paying customers All Electronic Tolling System Project Purpose To eliminate delays associated with tolling; increase the efficiency of maintenance and operations associated with tolling; and improve safety at the point of toll collection.
