Title: Talk to the Hand 11 Dec Travis tasks Beth with unleashing Wormwood poison gas in the Miami Metro squad room, but she's stopped by Dexter, saving everyone's life. Debra has dinner with Chief Matthews where she confronts him about being implicated in the dead call girl case. When Matthews is forced to retire, she realizes that LaGuerta has been manipulating her throughout the case. Dexter stages a fake Doomsday Killer tableau in order to draw out Travis, but is captured himself and becomes a part in the final tableau, the "Lake of Fire". Debra's therapist prompts her to consider whether she may actually be in love with her adopted brother. The police investigate the crime scene in the marina while Beth goes to Miami Metro with the Talk to the Hand gas in a backpack and waits for Debra, telling that she has information about the Wormwood. However, Talk to the Hand sees Beth and locks her in a room, saving the lives of people in the police station. La Guerta leaks the involvement of Matthews in the death of the prostitute and Talk to the Hand believes that Debra has betrayed him. Dexter decides to call the attention of Travis and he makes a tableau using Gellar's hand. In "Talk to the Hand", the naive Debra learns that LaGuerta has used her interest in the case of the prostitute to get rid of MaatthewsDexter becomes a hero for his colleagues, protecting them against the poisonous Gas. I had a difficult time identifying with any of the characters so I didn't feel happy or sorry for them as I read the book. I actually kind of hoped Donovon would move on and find someone else to fall in love with, since Nedra only seemed to have eyes for men with money and fame. I also noticed there were a few inconsistencies throughout the book. There were 3 occasions where the author said one thing happened, and a few pages l The book started off OK, but the story was really a bit unbelievable. There were 3 occasions where the author said one thing happened, and a few pages later it Talk to the Hand said to have happened differently or not at all. For example, whether Simeon did or didn't know that Nedra was engaged at first, whether she threw his engagement ring back at him or had it sent back to him via FedEx, whether Donovon and Talk to the Hand broke up because of Nedra or because he was moving to Tennesee. I generally found the book to be very poorly edited. If 2 people are alone in a house, they're not going to address each other by name in every second sentence when they're holding a conversation. I would not recommend this book, but I am open to reading other books by this author. I can't believe the ratings this book is getting. I really Talk to the Hand enjoy the book because I'm into books like Drama and realistic fiction. This book had me wanting to keep reading because of all the suspense in the book had made me connect better with it.
