LightSail App Download Instructions

For use with Apple Configurator/iTunes:

To install LightSail using Apple Configurator, you will need the lightsail.ipa file saved locally on your computer. This is LightSail’s recommended method for deployments greater than 10 iPads.

Download the file with the App Store using the following steps:

• Open iTunes and navigate to the iTunes Store. • In the search field, type “LightSail” and press return. • Click the Free button under the LightSail Education logo. • Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted, and the download will begin. • In Apple Configurator, navigate to the Apps panel and click the + button at the bottom of the list. • The downloaded app can be found in ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Mobile Applications. • Highlight the LightSail app and click the Select button. • Enter your Apple ID and password again when prompted.

On an individual iPad:

To install via Apple’s App Store:

• Open the App Store on your device. • In the search field, type “LightSail” and tap Search. • Tap the Free button under the LightSail Education logo. • Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted, and the download will begin. • Repeat these steps on all iPads that will be using LightSail.
