Yau Tsim Mong District Council Re: Consultation on Street Naming in Yau Tsim Mong Purpose To consult District Council for the following proposed street name:
Museum Drive ( 博物館道 ) Background Under West Kowloon Cultural District Development, a new road connecting Austin Road West and proposed Hong Kong Palace Museum will be completed in early 2019. District Survey Office/ Kowloon of Lands Department proposes to name the unnamed road as Museum Drive ( 博物館道 ). The road will start from its junction and end at a Cul-de-sac. Please refer to the attached plan ( plan no. KRM122_DRAFT3 ) for details of the proposal.
District Survey Office/ Kowloon consulted relevant government departments and West Kowloon Cultural District Authority for the naming proposal. Yau Tsim Mong District Office also conducted local consultation in January. During the consultation period, this office received a different view from West Kowloon Cultural District Authority. After consolidation of comment from the consultee, this office maintain the above naming proposal and conduct further consultation process through District Council.
Matter to be Follow-up If the proposed street name is accepted by Yau Tsim Mong District Council, the Lands Department will gazette Government Notice under section 111C of the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance, Chapter 132 for the announcement of naming these road.
