Ringlestone Community Association – Supporting the association, initially in retaining and maintaining the existing community centre at Finch Hall and now transferring to alternative venue in St. Faiths Church, supporting their activities in the local community.

MBC Trustee at the Howard de Walden Centre – Working as a trustee to improve the accommodation and with KCC to instigate the Centre for use as a local Childrens Centre.

Regular liaison with Neighbourhood Police on local issues and supporting their activities. Including PACT, although this has stopped while new neighbourhood policing activities are put in place.

Working on behalf of constituents to improve existing community facilities including supporting St Faiths church in Moncktons Lane to maintain existing facilities while they seek planning permission to build a new community hall.

Provide regular local updates through FOCUS newsletters which includes all contact details – about 6 per year.

Issue of local street letters dealing with localised issues

Chairing Local Residents Forum in North East and Central Maidstone,

Acting on behalf of constituents in relation to the following items: o Raising issues and seeking improvements to footpaths. This year that has included, Holland Road, Wheeler Street, Well Road and Road. o Local Residential Parking problems particularly in Bargrove Road and Tudor Avenue. o Local Planning problems in Sittingbourne Road o North East Ward roads – dealing with pothole complaints and other problems o Supporting local residents in Bargrove Road with regard to major local noise problems from nearby commercial properties 3 o Supporting local residents on social issues o Working with Police on issues relating to speeding and anti-social behaviour. o Helping to support financially and seeking ongoing improvements to local Play and green areas.

Purpose Amount

Boxley Road, Maidstone - remove current posts and replace £ 3,054 with bollards with retro reflective banding

Tudor Avenue, Maidstone - replace verge posts. £500 £500 Investigation Fee charged. Works to be completed under maintenance budget.

Curzon Road, Maidstone - to replace six diseased or dead £4,158 highway trees.

NOTE – There are other applications still being processed £ 473 Commodore Road, Maidstone to replace one diseased or

4 dead highway trees £ 2,365 Pennenden Heath Road, Maidstone to replace five diseased or dead highway trees

In addition to the above completed highways works there are nine additional works programmed within my Division which are either ‘approved’, ‘ongoing’ or ‘programmed’.

N.B. There is a facility that if this fund is not used in the current financial year this money can be forwarded to the next financial year.

Helped Group raise £885.00 for Kent Children’s Trust

As Lead member for Roads Policing on the Kent Police Authority I chair the Casualty Reduction Strategic Board meetings which include Kent County Council, Kent Police, Medway Unitary Authority, Highways Agency and Kent Fire Brigade. The purpose of the meetings is to agree the joint strategy to reduce deaths and serious injuries on our roads in Kent and Medway.
