Applications are now being accepted for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Sigma Alpha Iota Philanthropies, Inc. is offering matching grant funds to a college or university music department in cooperation with a Sigma Alpha Iota chapter for a major project in music.
• Impact Project Grants are awarded in support of major projects in music which will have impact beyond the confines of the campus. Examples of recent winning projects: ♫ “The Healing Power of Music” – Theta Gamma Chapter, U of Texas-San Antonio ♫ “At War With Ourselves: A Musical Residency Performance Exploring Race Relations” – Theta Chi Chapter, U of South Carolina ♫ “Rachel Barton Pine Residency” – Beta Epsilon Chapter, U of Evansville ♫ “Musical Outreach & Audience Development via Online Streaming” – Zeta Nu Chapter, U of Texas-Arlington • This grant provides up to $5,000 in matching funds and must be used during the 2020-2021 academic year. • It must be a joint project with the SAI collegiate chapter and the school. • The funded project must be executed as proposed. • This grant may not be used for scholarships or tuition. • Only one proposal may be submitted in any academic year. • Matching resources provided by the school may be in money and/or in-kind contributions. • The applying SAI chapter must be in “good standing” with the fraternity. • The application must be prepared jointly by the Sigma Alpha Iota chapter president and the music department head or another authorized official. • Selection will be made on the following basis: Potential impact of project on the larger musical community Feasibility as outlined in the application Originality
The application is now available online and must be submitted no later than MARCH 15, 2020.
