Ph. 07 4721 4998 athleticsnorthqld.org.au President Message WELCOME On behalf of Athletics North Queensland, I welcome all athletes, coaches, officials and supporters to what the largest community athletics festival in Australia will be, the inaugural Festival of Athletics. Stemming from a desire to make athletics more visible and accessible to the wider public, our staff within the ANQ offices, along with a dedicated committee of members have developed the concept of an immersive athletics experience, which you will become part of this weekend. The Festival of Athletics could not happen without the support of community-minded businesses, local government, community groups, fellow sporting organisations, and of course our members, and Athletics North Queensland extend our gratitude to those groups for sharing our vision of promoting the Townsville region and the active and inclusive lifestyle which is athletics. To our athletes, whether you have travelled from Normanton, or Perth, may you be your best, and we hope you have a rewarding athletics event. Shane Watson President – Athletics North Queensland Ph.
