Grand Opening Celebrations

An exciting series of celebratory retail and lifestyle experiences have been organised in recognition of the final completion of Wangfujing’s iconic landmark that fully realises the mission of Dongcheng District to be the ‘Beijing capital’s cultural centre, and window of a global city’.

The Grand Opening celebrations further highlight WF CENTRAL’s role in engaging, connecting and building community through inspiring curations of art, cultural creativity and experiential lifestyle.

Iconic Locations

Famed traveller, tourism expert and entrepreneur Jeremy Jauncey visits Beijing for the first time and in collaboration with Dongcheng District government will explore China’s historic capital and its world-heritage imperial palace in addition to casting an appreciative eye over WF CENTRAL, Wangfujing’s very own iconic landmark destination.

Jeremy has been called the world’s most influential traveller and travel business ‘game- changer’. The travel & tourism expert has visited over 75 countries, consulting for international tourism boards, cities, hotels and airlines, whilst building the largest tourism community in the world on social media, reaching over 20 million people.

Celebrating Cultural Inspiration

WF CENTRAL provides the focal point for highly-prestigious artistic collaborations with renowned international artists. Grand opening celebrations feature two highly-acclaimed artists, one from China and one exhibiting in Beijing for the very first time.

The exhibition, which runs from 19th October until 24th November, will inspire and delight, inviting visitors to play with the imagination. “HELLO SUPER LAND” is a land where goodness and consciousness prevail. Togetherness is represented by families of many familiar objects, creating a safe environment that inspires people to share, support and appreciate each other.

Visitors are invited to immerse themselves and personally engage in the fun world Bas Kosters has created by joining his ‘Hulu’ (fortune) craft area and decorate their very own ‘YuYu’ to take home or add to the installation’s ‘YuYu’ family.

In the spirit of the historical significance of the Wangfujing district, renowned Beijing artist Ren Zhe showcases sculptures with a theme of ‘Qi’, an original and pure energy holding the power of perpetuation.

Ren Zhe's classically-inspired contemporary sculptures are exclusively curated at WF CENTRAL from 19th until 31st October (the indoor exhibition at Salon Ten and the outdoor exhibition on the Green are planned to last until end of the 2019).

In the spectrum of contemporary sculpture in China, the sculptures of Ren Zhe exhibit his personal firm faith in art. Ren Zhe’s WF CENTRAL showcase demonstrates his respect for the classical spirit in sculpture, in a location that evokes memories of the historically artistic legacy of Wangfujing HOUSE 21, the former home of Beijing’s cultural royal princelings Pu Lun and Pu Dong, at a time when classical art in China has almost disappeared.
