Spring 2019 Fraternity/Sorority Report

Educational Programming ▪ 47 New Members attended the Spring 2019 Greek New Member Orientation. ▪ Student Activities hosted recruitment experts Phired Up and 16 out of 19 chapters had 75% or greater in attendance.

Recruitment & Membership ▪ 42 New Members (29 fraternity & 8 sorority) ▪ 3 Fraternity/Sorority students were inducted into Order of Omega.

Involvement Winter Carnival 2019 highlights include: ▪ The following Sorority Women were Winter Carnival Queen Candidates: o Rachael Violassi, Alpha Gamma Delta – 1st Runner Up o Katie Palmcook, Delta Phi Epsilon and Audience Choice o Heather Woodrum, Theta Chi Epsilon o Brook Greening, Delta Phi Epsilon ▪ Phi Kappa Tau won 1st place in the month-long statue competition, followed by Tau Kappa Epsilon, then Delta Sigma Phi. ▪ Phi Delta Chi won 2nd place in the all-nighter statue Women’s Division. ▪ Phi Kappa Tau won 1st place in the Men’s Division. ▪ Theta Chi Epsilon won 1st place in the Women’s Division, followed by Delta Phi Epsilon, then Alpha Sigma Tau. ▪ Alpha Gamma Delta/Sigma Tau Gamma won 2nd place in the Co-Ed Division followed by Delta Zeta/Delta Upsilon. ▪ Delta Phi Epsilon won 1st place Overall and in the Women’s Division for Special Events.

Service ▪ 53 Fraternity/Sorority volunteers hosted the Fraternity and Sorority Life Blood Drive with 339 pints donated.

Awards & Recognition 2019 Fraternity and Sorority Life Awards Highlights include: ▪ Outstanding Sorority of the Year – Alpha Gamma Delta ▪ Fraternity Man of the Year – Trevor Peffley ▪ Outstanding Fraternity of the Year – Phi Kappa Tau ▪ Sorority Woman of the Year – Greta Colford

Organization Updates: ▪ The following organization was found responsible for violating University policy during Fall 2018: o Tau Kappa Epsilon ▪ The following organizations were found responsible for violating University policy during Fall 2018 and remain on probation: o Beta Sigma Theta o Theta Chi Epsilon ▪ The following organization was found responsible for violating University policy during Spring 2019: o Alpha Sigma Tau ▪ Theta Tau was found responsible for violating University policy during Fall 2013 and Fall 2017 and has been expelled.

As of May 2019, NO fraternities or sororities are on academic warning or academic probation with Student Activities. All have achieved a chapter cumulative average of 2.50 or above.
