My First Year at Highcliffe

My first year at Highcliffe has been eventful, with lots of revision, tests and group moving. Thankfully I only had the first 2 of those. My first term was very strange, as we had to adjust to all the new things. We had our timetables, so that we knew when we had our subjects. There were a lot of new ones, like geography and tech, but we still had all the old ones, like English and Science.

Then we had our planners, which we had to right our home study in, which also had a map, so we wouldn’t get that lost, and merit pages, for our rewards for doing good work.

Thirdly, which doesn’t apply to everyone, was that I had to get a bus to school for the first time. When they came into our stop on the first morning, they towered over us, but you soon got used to it. Then you had to make sure you were sitting together, so there would be enough seats for everyone.

Next we had to find our way to the classes, and this is not easy when you are surrounded 1400 other students that are all taller than you, and the school is massive, big enough to accommodate all these giants. But after the first few weeks you soon found your way, and weren’t so late for class.

Finally, was meeting new people. Because there are 1400 students in the school, and 261 in year 7, it can take a while to find someone you will get along with. Fortunately for me, I managed to find some straight away, and I still had all my friends from my old school.

Fast forward to the second term, and me and everyone else have settled into the routine of s
