HIGHLIGHTS 233 residents living in the site of Veria, as of 31 October. 34 new arrivals were received throughout October from Lesvos and Evros border crossing. All welcomed and briefed about site services and amenities by NRC SMS team and provided with food and non-food items by NRC Shelter team and Bridge2. 1 UAM was transferred to Alexandria site, and 24 residents departed spontaneously by own means. The Greek national football team of homeless individuals visited the site for a friendly match with the refugee team of Veria and a small celebration took place. Protection services, including Legal Assistance and Asylum Information are still being provided by UNHCR, DRC, and EASO. IRC stopped Women Protection activities and are not receiving SGBV referrals any more. They still continue CP and PSS. Ministry of Education Coordinator started registering students to the public high school of Veria. NRC Education team is proceeding with the classes for adults and children aged 6-15. They also arranged an excursion trip to . The Slovak Medical Team will no longer operate on site and Kitrinos health care started providing medical services. NRC Shelter Team prepared the site for the winter by maintaining and operating the heating system for first time, unblocking drainage and roof gutters, distributing blankets to the residents. Laundry station is successfully launched. Translated info-materials for the operation of the machines and safety instructions have been put up by NRC SMS team. Focal points from the community are monitoring the daily operation of the laundry machines. Bridge2 continues to distribute clothing and food packages to the new arrivals with occasional food distributions to the rest of the camp.

Veria site [ Armatolou Kokkinou ] is located in Central , in the north of Greece, approximately 6 km from the city of Veria and 70km from the city of . The site is a former military base, and began serving as a Hospitality Centre for asylum seekers in March 2016, when the former offices were converted into bedrooms. The site is managed by the Greek Army, with support from NRC. The Ministries of Migration Policy, Education and Health also all have full time representation in the site. The location is considered suitable for families and vulnerable individuals. Data are collected periodically, with frequent updates for new arrivals/births or departures.
