WISCONSIN OFFICIAL HISTORICAL MARKERS
The Wisconsin State Historical Markers Program is administered by the Local History-Field Services section of the Wisconsin Historical Society's Office of Programs & Outreach. If you find that a marker has been moved or is missing or damaged, contact Fitzie Heimdahl. Please provide the title of the marker and its current location.
Each listing below includes the official marker number, the marker’s official name and location, and a map index code that corresponds to Wisconsin’s Official State Highway Map. You may download or request this year’s Official State Highway Map from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation website.
Markers are generally listed chronologically by the date erected. In cases where marker numbers do not follow sequentially, a marker has been removed. This may occur for a variety of reasons, including that the wording of the marker became outdated or that the historic property being described was moved or demolished.
