Geographical Split

One of the key criteria in setting up the DCB Junior League was to try and cut down on the travel time to matches. We decided the best way to do this was to split the county into 5 regions – North East, South East, Central, South West and Tyneside..

The tables below show how the 59 clubs are split up into their respective region –

North East Central South East South West Tyneside Bill Quay Burnmoor Castle Eden Annfield Plain Boldon Chester-le-Street Dawdon CW Brandon Beamish & East St Boldon CA Durham City Easington CW Crook Town Blaydon Felling Eppleton Horden Esh Winning Burnopfield Gateshead Fell Hetton Lyons Murton Etherley Hylton CW Kimblesworth Peterlee Evenwood Greenside Marsden Littletown Ryhope Hunwick Lanchester South Shields Philadelphia Harbour Langley Park Leadgate Wearmouth Sacriston Seaham Park Mainsforth Lintz Whitburn Sunderland Silksworth Railway Ryton Whiteleas & Harton Washington South Hetton Tudhoe Shotley Bridge

Ushaw Moor Swalwell

Willington Whickham

In addition to the 59 Durham based clubs in the league, the Tyneside division also has 3 clubs from Northumberland who also play in their region, South Northumberland, Stocksfield and Tynedale.

Out of the 62 Cricket Clubs involved in the league, 5 are now operating without Junior sections, Bill Quay, Boldon CA, Kimblesworth, Silksworth and Whiteleas.

The 62 clubs are drawn from 6 of the Counties Senior Cricket Leagues:

North East Premier League - 18 clubs Durham Cricket League - 24 clubs Northumberland & Tyneside Cricket League - 13 clubs North East Durham League - 5 clubs North Yorkshire & South Durham Premier League - 2 clubs
