FROM THE RECTOR’S DESK

Dear Faithful, The record a number of occasions when commands the element of nature. By His power, the sick are restored to health, the dead are back to life, water turns itself into wine, the stormy waves are calmed and the winds are made to die away. But Our Lord does not allow us to be lazy and self indulgent. It is why Saint Paul warns us that “the sufferings of this world are not worthy to be compared to the Glory which is to come”. To the degree that we deal courageously with difficulties of life, we can expect the “Crown of Glory”. The of the miraculous catch of fish is representative: Jesus did not make the fish jump in the boat. Rather, after the disciples toiled all night and caught nothing, Jesus ordered them to put down their net and they caught a large number of fish. To lead us to eternal life, Jesus requires our cooperation.

Very truly yours, Canon Benoît Jayr
