SOUTH BRONX COMMUNITY RESOURCES AND SERVICES DIRECTORY MOTT HAVEN COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM Acknowledgment South Bronx Community Resources and Services Directory The Mott Haven Community Partnership Program (MHCPP) is a collaboration among the Administration for Children's Services, ACS foster care & preventive agencies, local service providers & stakeholders to help provide neighborhood based services to children and families in their own communities. The Partnership is a forum where agencies can share resources, ideas, information, referrals, as well as engage in joint planning, coordination, training, and advocacy. Another prospect for the MHCPP is the development of community based child welfare strategies that will lead the realignment of child welfare services, ensuring that families, communities, and government work successfully together to keep our City’s children safe and families thriving. This South Bronx Community Resources and Services Directory, developed by The Mott Haven Community Partnership Program, contains resources and services primarily in Community District One and the surrounding neighborhoods in the South Bronx. Additionally, we have included Bronx Borough-Wide mental health and preventive services. We plan to regularly update this Directory and if you wish to include your organization’s services in a future version or would like to obtain a PDF copy, please send your requests to John Rios at [email protected] John Rios, Co-Chair Mott Haven Community Partnership Program Sweeney Anderson, Coordinator - [email protected] Cecilia Pichardo, Administrative Assistant - [email protected] Mott Haven Community Partnership Program 555 Bergen Avenue, 4th Floor Bronx, New York 10455 i ii iii iv Table of Contents CHILD CARE/DAY CARE AND HEAD START .......................................................................................1 Administration for Children’s Services Division of Child Care and Head Start ....................................................... 1 Betances Early Childhood Development Center........................................................................................................ 1 Brightside Academy Childcare Services .................................................................................................................... 1 Cardinal McCloskey Community Services – Head Start program ............................................................................ 2 Dominican Sisters Family Health Services ................................................................................................................ 2 East Side House Settlement Early Learn (Head Start/day care) ................................................................................ 3 East Side House Settlement – Pre-K/Head Start (Children’s Pride Center) .............................................................. 3 East Side House Settlement – Pre-K/Head Start (Mill Brook Center) ....................................................................... 4 East Side House Settlement – Pre-K/Head Start (Mott Haven Center) ..................................................................... 4 East Side House Settlement – Pre-K/Head Start (Winifred Wheeler Center) ............................................................ 5 HAC – Marshall England Early Learning Center, Universal Pre-K and Family Day Care ....................................... 5 January Sanalak- Children’s Librarian, Early Literacy - Mott Haven Library .......................................................... 6 Lutheran Social Services of New York - Early LIFE Children’s Center 1 ................................................................ 6 Mid-Bronx C C R P Head Start and Early Learning Center ...................................................................................... 7 Sheltering Arms Children and Family Services ......................................................................................................... 7 DOMESTIC ABUSE VICTIM SERVICES ..................................................................................................8 Athena House/SUS .................................................................................................................................................... 8 Crime Victims and Witnesses Program ..................................................................................................................... 8 Dominican Sisters Family Health Services – Family Life Program .......................................................................... 9 The Healing Center .................................................................................................................................................... 9 Homes for the Homeless – Prospect Family Support Center ................................................................................... 10 Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services (JBFCS) – Bronx Domestic Violence Program (BDVP) ........... 10 New York City Family Justice Center, Bronx ......................................................................................................... 11 New York City Family Justice Center – Bronx ....................................................................................................... 11 New York Foundling – Crisis Nursery/Family Crisis Center .................................................................................. 12 SBH Health System – Women and Family Center .................................................................................................. 12 Safe Horizon – Project Safe ..................................................................................................................................... 13 Safe Horizon – Manhattan – Bronx Community Program....................................................................................... 13 Sanctuary for Families – NYC Family Justice Center – Bronx .............................................................................. 14 Violence Intervention Program, Inc.
