INTERNATIONAL VISITORS PROGRAMME ANNOUNCES 2014 PARTICIPANTS AND THE CANADIAN EDITORIAL FELLOW

TORONTO, July 23, 2014 ----- The International Visitors (IV) Programme , in association with IFOA , is pleased to announce its 2014 participants. This October, the Programme celebrates its seventh year of hosting publishing professionals from around the world during the International Festival of Authors in Toronto ( October 23–November 2, 2014 ). Participants benefit from five days of scheduled inter-industry dialogue with the goal of increasing opportunities for Canadian authors and publishers abroad . The 2014 IV Programme runs from October 26–30 .

“Each fall, the International Visitors Programme welcomes publishers, editors, literary scouts, festival directors, literary agents and rights managers to Toronto to meet their Canadian colleagues,” says Iris Tupholme , Vice-President, Executive Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of HarperCollins Canada. “The Programme has firmly established itself as a key part of the fall publishing calendar.”

Highlights of the 2014 session will be a panel event featuring discussion of acquisition lists from major international publishers, a full schedule of publisher-hosted events and receptions, a mini rights fair and an industry-focused keynote address by famed American literary agent Andrew Wylie , whose eponymous agency boasts clients like Martin Amis, Dave Eggers and Salman Rushdie.

For the third year, the IV Programme has awarded the Canadian Editorial Fellowship , an opportunity for a mid-career Canadian editor to meet with the international publishing executives in attendance. The 2014 Canadian Editorial Fellowship has been awarded to Jane Warren , Editor at HarperCollins Canada.
