You must have a current racing License. DAY LICENCES CANNOT BE ISSUED 2. You must be signed on at least 20 minutes before the start of the race and attend a riders briefing with the Chief Commissaire at 9.50am. 3. You will not be permitted to start unless you are wearing suitable head protection conforming to the standards accepted by British Cycling. 4. Care is required when turning left at Layer de la Haye because there is a KEEP LEFT bollard situated just around the corner. 5. Care must be taken on the narrow lane between Layer de la Haye and Layer Breton (Birch Road). DO NOT RIDE CLOSE TO THE NEARSIDE EDGE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE SURFACE HAS BROKEN AWAY IN SOME PLACES. 6. Beware of wild fowl when crossing the reservoir on both sides. 7. NO UNAUTHORISED FOLLOWING CARS WILL BE TOLERATED WHILST THE RACE IS ON. 8. First Aid Service will be provided. Any Riders needing hospital treatment will be taken to Colchester General Hospital, Turner Road, Colchester. (01206 767474) 9. Neutral Race Service will be provided. PLEASE BRING SPARE WHEELS FOR USE BY SERVICE VEHICLES. 10. AT THE FINISH all spectators and helpers vehicles must be parked inside the designated zone which is a field opposite the Layer de la Haye Waterworks. 11. NO DOGS ARE PERMITTED WITHIN THE GROUNDS OF THE WATER- WORKS. 12. Riders who are deemed to be out of contention and / or at least 5 minutes behind the bulk of the race may be pulled out and given a finish placing when they cross the finish line one lap after this has been indicated by the Commissaire(s) and or the Finish Commissaire(s) 13. All riders subject to Regulation 10.8 will be placed. 14. Any Riders climbing off of their own free will shall be deemed to have abandoned with will not be eligible for any awards. 15. Please obey all Police and Race Marshals instructions where given

STANWAY FEDERATION LEARNING CENTRE

(Approach Via Maldon Road (B1022) and Walnut Tree Way or Gosbecks Road)

Approximately 2 miles south of Colchester Town Centre

START LOCATION — (Neutralised) Start at School. Continue into Iceni Way and turn right into Layer Road (B1026). Continue south to join the circuit at Layer de la Haye crossroads TURNING RIGHT into Birch Road. (CIRCUIT PROPER BEGINS).

 CONTINUE along Birch Road (CAUTION — nearside edge of road breaking away) bearing left at the junction with Birch Park (Conduit Farm). Follow this unclassified road past Garlands Farm and Craxes Green to the junction at Layer Breton Heath (Hare and Hounds Public House) where  TURN LEFT on unclassified road in the direction of Wigborough. Continue through Layer Breton crossing over to the junction with the B1026.  TURN LEFT into Layer Road (B1026) crossing Abberton Reservoir on the eastern side passing Layer de la Haye Church and Layer de la Haye Waterworks  At the Layer Crossroads TURN LEFT into Birch Road, to complete 1 lap which is 11km or 6.87 miles

THE RACE IS PLANNED TO COMPLETE 12 LAPS OF THE CIRCUIT. THE FINISH LINE IS SITUATED AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE TO LAYER DE LA HAYE WATERWORKS. OFF ROAD PARKING AT THE FINISH FOR OFFICIALS AND SPECTATORS PROVIDED COURTESY OF ESSEX AND SUFFOLK WATER COMPANY.
