CHIRP CHIRP NOTES • Fun facts about Thelma Dis Agustsdottir -- Did you know there are no surnames or family names in Iceland – Icelanders use the traditional Nordic naming system, which includes a last name that is comprised from their father’s (or mother’s) first name with the addition of -dóttir (-daughter) or -son. Iceland does not have an army, navy or air force. It is against the law to own a snake, lizard or turtle in Iceland. Mosquitos do not exist in Iceland. Consumption of Coca–Cola per capita is higher than in any other country.

• Brady Sallee has been coaching the Cardinals for nine years, which is longer than any head coach with the exception of Tole- do’s (Tricia Cullop). He was hired in the same season as Buffalo (Felisha Legette-Jack) and Western Michigan’s (Shane Clipfell) head coaches.

• Head Coach Brady Sallee owns a 40-24 record when facing teams from the Mid-American Conference East Division and owns a 51-34 mark against MAC West opponents. Ironically, Eastern Michigan was the last league team the Cardinals faced prior to the pandemic at the 2020 MAC Tourament in Cleveland on March 11. BSU fell to the Eagles, 63-64. The Cardinals game against the Eagles was originally scheduled for Feb. 20. Ball State will also play at Akron on Dec. 20 before the holiday break. UPCOMING GAMES BEFORE THE NEW YEAR

The Cardinals will wrap up non-conference action on the road against Western Kentucky (Dec. 5), Big Ten foe Ohio State (Dec. 10) and Bellarmine (Dec. 14). Mid-American Conference action this year will be a 20-game format, with Ball State opening league play on Dec. 2 versus Eastern Michigan and then at Akron on Dec. 20 before the holiday break.
