In 2010, BCJ stepped in to meet the need for quality music education in Bridgeport. The BCJ Music Education Program now operates throughout the year to enrich the experience of public school students and to create new opportunities for young musicians.

Our free programs include the BackCountry Jazz Summer Music Camp for Bridgeport Public School children, the After-School Music Program, scholarships, instruments, workshops, master classes, and exciting concerts and events with artists and educators who perform and teach at the highest level of excellence.

Through concerts and music educational programs, BackCountry Jazz celebrates, preserves and expands the rich tradition of America's art form, Jazz.
