Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 7 PM Temple Beth Am, 5950 SW 88 Street, Pinecrest Seating limited to 90

Chris Demos-Brown is a Miami playwright, screenwriter, trial attorney, and co-founder of Miami’s Zoetic Stage. His play, American Son, recently completed a critically acclaimed run on Broadway starring Kerry Washington, Steven Pasquale, and Jeremy Jordan. Demos-Brown’s plays deal with contemporary American issues; he says he wants to convey the message “that our futures are bound up together and that there is a road to make that future different from how it seems to be going.” American Son looks at racism and violence against young black men through the eyes of an estranged interracial couple with a biracial teenage son. In the middle of the night, they receive a call from the police that their son’s car has been found, but he is missing. Netflix has bought the rights to produce the play, starring the original cast, as a feature film. Chris served as writer and co- producer on the project, which will be available to view this fall. Miami audi- ences will be able to see American Son at Zoetic Stage from January 9-26 next year! Please join us for an extraordinary evening, followed by a dessert extravaganza with ice cream sundaes and goodies galore!
